In Chicago, 15 are shot at a funeral home.

This may be a real savings for the deceased's estates.

Some of the mourners exchanged gunfire with the people inside the vehicle before it crashed down the block.

It wound not occur to me to go armed to a funeral.  But I don't live in Chicago.

Its chi town the windy city cruel winters sweltering summers. Home of some of the best politicians money can buy. Where up until a couple years ago only L E Os and criminals had guns. Soon as I read that article and listened to the vid from that 3 star chief immediate thought was-gang retaliation. And the 3 star mentioned that district commander had ordered a car there to watch over the funeral. Yet chi town do NOT want Fed help there. Go figure. RIDE SAFE.

As far as I know (at least in Florida) there’s no restriction on CC at funerals. I go to many and am always armed. Now most are Patriot Guard missions but even the normal ones at our church I’m armed. I  only not carrying when it’s specifically prohibited BY LAW. Starbucks asking politely not to carry in their place is not BY LAW. I don’t go to Starbucks anymore but that’s just an example

This on The P G R Missions. Had a L E O here in Missouri and another in Arkansas tell me he feels really safe at P G R Missions cause most of us carry. I carry at Church because if the worst should transpire at the very least I'll go down Fighting. And sad in a way myself and others think that way today.

I wasn't so much a commenting on going armed (anywhere), but the idea that funeral attendees in Chicago fired back at attackers.  I'm armed more often than not, but not always with a firearm.

But I'm pretty sure if I attended a Chicago funeral,  I'd not only go armed but wear my vest. Fortunately, I won't be attending any funerals in Chicago (how could you possibly pick one out of so many?).

I guess when you think about it..... if you don't like a guy enough to kill him, you might as well go to his funeral and shoot up all his friends and family too.   It makes perfect sense (for an insane person).

Perhaps Chicago needs to look into opening drive-in (or drive-by) funeral homes.
