I went into multiple stores today. Our governor (bless her heart) issued a mandate requiring face coverings in public places. Our county commissioners (bless their hearts) voted to uphold the state mandate. It appears that individuals will not be penalized but businesses will be fined if their customers are seen to be not complying. Each store has signs on the door that say to protect you and others you are required to wear a face covering. The mandate actually specifies nose and mouth but most folks don't seem to know how.
I found myself experiencing a continuous undercurrent of anger which I traced back to being manipulated to pretend I'm stupid in order to shop in any stores that I frequent. Leaving Sam's I was told by an employee, "Sir! You can't go out that door!' "Watch me." I replied. That's not normally how I deal with those folks.
I speculated that if this stuff irks me so badly it also makes people angry who are pro-mask and see folks walking around without them.
I wonder what the full impact of this ignorance really will be.

Really Carl, I see the entire debacle of the KungFlu having all sorts of different effects on people's behavior, and mostly not for the better. I have had very friendly conversations with folks out and about, but that's not new. But anger, short fuses, and butt-headedness all seem to be on the increase. Loss of income and jobs, bills, uncertainty...... but most of all fear and frustration for many months seems to be the prime factor.
I almost never leave the house without my pocket .380 anymore.

We are seeing the foundation of the Mark of the Beast. Not being able to buy or sell without the mark and a cashless society so that banks, or corporations have control your life.
Of course this is just my opinion at this point but the prophecy has been made and I believe it and know it will come to pass one day.
I share your anger and the knowledge that we are being manipulated. Possibly the full impact will be a Biden-Harris term in the Whitehouse which will be like an asteroid collision.

"I share your anger and the knowledge that we are being manipulated. Possibly the full impact will be a Biden-Harris term in the Whitehouse which will be like an asteroid collision." I predict it will be worse than that. What I'm seeing is the prelude to what we will see, maybe 10 fold on election day. The violence, riots, the general mayhem, particularly in States with High numbers of electoral votes, will descend upon polling places nation wide. It will be highly organized and supported by much of the Democrat Party. The States, having their voting process methods and places very much destroyed will declare themselves unable to hold a vote. They will choose their electors through their respective legislatures. Blue states and States with high density urban areas (most with significant electoral representation) will choose electors that will vote for the Democrat slate. Can this be done? Yes it can. The US Constitution simply states that the States have the right to choose their Electors. How is up to the respective State. If the violence, riots, and general mayhem is bad enough, and it will be, the Governors of such affected States will declare a State of Emergency, set aside the State's election laws, rules and regulations, and the dominoes will fall. What we are seeing now is the dry run for this. We are seeing State governments, City governments, public officials allowing and excusing it. They are letting rioters, looters, and terrorist out of jail and back into the communities. Personally, I don't think we will have a 2020 election. We will see an attempt at a violent coup.

Good post.
I also share in your anger that we are being manipulated, however I do believe it has been in the works for decades now. We are seeing the result of an organized indoctrination that began in kindergarten for many of these young "activists" anarchists and "demonstrators" rioters. They really do hate our country, beliefs, freedoms and rights. While they may not be yours, they are the daughters and sons of so many in our age bracket and they're quickly becoming the mothers and fathers of so many more. And they are the enemies within.
Anger? Rage? I am getting increasingly angry at those who would destroy all we love and hold dear by way of chaos and violence, while still enjoying the rights inherent to law abiding patriots. And they're getting away with it.
Some say Trump is hardcore. When it comes to violent anarchists, I wish he could be more so.
I say if you're attacking those that enforce the law, you're attacking our entire legal system and are an enemy of the Republic. If you're burning down businesses, churches and police precincts that make up America you forfeit all American rights. If you enact violence to forward a political cause you are a terrorist and can be dealt with as such. If you destroy statues and historical monuments you too can be removed from history. Eliminated, if it is deemed necesary.
I foresee some gritty times ahead and I pray our country can weather the coming Socislism sh!tstorm for at least another several generations. I am not optimistic.
As far as masks...
I could care less if someone is masked or not, but I'm not in the unenviable position of attempting to enforce a store mandate. It seems there are plenty of other, more pressing things to get bent out of shape about.

I hear this sentiment quite a bit. I’m a little unclear of the cause of the rage. Do you equate this to a lost freedom ? Do you equate it to as you say “being manipulated into feeling you have to pretend mental inadequacies” ? Neither makes sense to me. (I’m glad you aren’t regularly rude to a poor sap just trying to do his job)

You misquoted me. It's not that I feel I'm being manipulated. I AM being manipulated to do something incredibly stupid. Loss of freedom? When I take hold of the cat by the back of the neck and push his face into some improperly placed crap he gets very angry. Is it his loss of freedom? I guess you could interpret it that way but I think it goes much deeper. ... Neither makes sense to me. ...
I understand. We take in what we choose and then we choose what makes sense to us. I am confident that what makes sense to me is logically valid. I hope you are confident also but it puts us across from each other in what we recognize as valid logic. ... (I’m glad you aren’t regularly rude to a poor sap just trying to do his job)
I did say that I don't normally but he made a demand and I was through being dictated to ignorantly. Again we choose. When I chose to accept a paycheck for a job I expected to do and receive what comes with that job. Nazis who said, "I was only doing what I was told," were incorrect. They chose to do what they were told. So do we. At that moment I didn't feel a whole lot of sympathy for the poor sap.

If this wasn't an election year you might hear about Covid in passing but nothing like it is now. The Democrats are using this to their advantage along with all the BLM riots ( i mean protests). I only know of 2 people that have tested positive. And now our stupid governor has issued a mask mandate starting monday. I'd like to shove these masks down his throat. Even he a couple months back, a day after he told everyone they should be wearing a mask went out to pick up food without one. He excuse, i was only going to be a minute. We have morons running the country and it will only get worse if Democrats take over in November. I think all hope of having a normal society ever again is over. When will the people have enough and take it back?

Willow; my grocery store shutdown multiple entrances. Only one way in and out. They count incoming and subtract outgoing. That way they maintain a max headcount in the store. Are you making a big deal out of CDC guidelines for people density in the store?

The sheer lunacy being exhibited here in The U S of A is like Nothing I ever seen before in the years I've been aware of lunacy. People being attacked and beaten or shot and injured or killed over mask ordinances? Statues that Are Part of the fabric of our very history being torn down removed destroyed because a minute segment of society feels they are racist? What's next? How I dress? What I drive or ride? How I walk and or talk? Where I live? What I eat? I ask again-WHAT exactly are We leaving Our children-grand children great grand children? etc etc. I haven't been scared since the first time I stepped on an active carrier flight deck in mid 1964. Learned to deal with it and do my job. Fear rarin it'sugly azz here recently for Me and Mine. RIDE SAFE.

I have a more wait and see attitude but try to take in as much as I can stand of what is going on today. Emotions are running high everywhere and a lot more folks are openly stating they (we) have had about enough of it. We both believe there is a huge underground push to sway the election using covid and the BLM movement as a cover. The more the focus is taken away from "the ball" the easier it will be to change the game.

I don't know. I don't see any nation that has handled C-19 flawlessly, no matter what approach each took.
I don't deny that many are using the virus to influence the election. I may not be the "average" person who takes the virus seriously, but my politics don't affect my stance on it. My stance is not in favor of mandated lockdowns or masking.
I am conservative and will continue to vote according to those values. It's a big NO to Joe for me! FWIW.
BTW, C-19 will have no influence on my vote whatsoever.

I see federal restraint
What I want to see is the formal charges against those in the obama administration for what was done to the presidential candidate and his team by the fbi, the obama white house and others Someone will roll over and then Obama and Hillary are cooked. Treason is still a death penalty crime if proven
Meanwhile China is airing ads for Biden Interference blatantly in an election Why is this not decried by democrats?
Because they are owned at the top and the people at the bottom. Both of them are sucking the teat of the government and the people relentlessly like leeches.

I blew my stack a month or two ago at Walmart. I parked on far side to get something real quick in/out knew where it was so parked on that side of the building far down. Entrance was open having clicker counters could see far away at both entrances had people counting in/out. Got what I wanted 5 minutes later in line on that same side was walking to the door and 2 Walmart workers yell at me stating cannot go out that door is shutdown after 6 p.m.. I was PISSED big time said a few choice words NO mask on at the time forcing me to walk all the way past checkouts to other side, did not walk around the taped around area just stepped on over it was so pissed leaving then walking all the way to the other side of Walmart to my vehicle. Took just as long to walk back and forth as in the fricking store. 0 The walmart kid standing outside watching me go OVER the taped entrance/exit be darn glad he kept his mouth shut or that taped off area would have been destroyed by me in seconds. This crap is getting old and just glad I do not regularly go out much just for food and the basics elsewhere. Shopping for fun or on a whim has never been my cup of tea and with this virus BS affecting even getting the basics upsets me a lot at times depending on the mood I am in at the time. When TP was nowhere to be found at first, I just laughed in amazement that it was like GOLD, but even that got old after a few months. I fear give this BS a few more months and everyone should be carrying heat for we all may need it with one another for self defense.

Well I rolled into a grocery store at about 9:30 tonight. Just wanted to buy beer and get out of there but forgot about the mask thing. Our county is under a mask order in stores or something like that. Went like this.
It's about a million degrees where I am so I walk in wearing jeans, boots and a summer riding jacket carrying my helmet. I'm about 6'2" in my boots, 190 lbs with salt and pepper hair. Reason I said that, I'm not a fat old man and I'm certainly not a youngster. I didn't have to worry about social distancing since no one seemed interested in getting near me. LOL. Paid for my beer then asked the guy if he had any glass cleaner behind the counter. He said "what?". I said I had some bugs stuck to shield and it makes it hard to see at night. I then processed to clean my shield at the checkout, said thanks wandering back out the door. Stuck a case of beer into my saddle bag and rode away.
The cash thing is worrying me a bit. I say no to the cashless society. I have been in cash businesses along with being audited by the IRS more then once. As far as I'm concerned every little exchanged of cash that happens doesn't need to be taxed. The government would love that. One example is the boys next door are big dudes but in their teens. They are for hire, cash only stuff. You need to muscle some stuff around they will do it, maybe call a couple of friends but they'll get it done. Let's say they make a few thousand doing that, does that really need to be taxed? Do they need to deal with all the other rules involved with being a business? It's not as simple as paying taxes on that money. Trust me on that.
This fall is going to get rough. History show one thing. When people are under economic distress things always get more violent and when the government is the cause of your distress things get more violent. I'm getting ready for some statue to get attacked and someone has just had enough going nuts. The snow flakes have never had to deal with some guy or guys who have just had enough.
Everything has 3 sides to it. It's a matter of when the balance goes out of the 3 sides. The 3 sides are your version, my version and what exactly went on.
