The reference below is from Breitbart but I heard Represetative Gohmert on the Rick Roberts show today discussing his "privileged resolution".  Here is a summary statement and a link to the article, if you might find it of interest.

Because of this, I introduced a privileged resolution in the House calling upon Congress to acknowledge the indecorous history of the Democratic Party. I asked that the Speaker of the House be instructed to ban any political organization or political party that ever publicly supported slavery or the Confederate States of America.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/07/23/exclusive-rep-louie-gohmert-instead-of-canceling-our-culture-its-time-to-canceldemocrats/

And while Breitbart does not have a stellar record of you look at "Media Bias/Fact Check" webpage, I will agree that the information presented in the article is what Representative Gohmert actually said on the Rick Roberts show on WBAP in Fort Worth Texas this afternoon.

But... that would negatively affect the Democrats! That's just being silly.
There's plenty of other places to spit on Confederates, leave the Democrats
out of it!

Our current "Democrats" absolutely refuse to admit that their party is the party of Slavery and the KKK.

Just another reason that they are so desperate to rewrite history.

The first 80-85 black congressmen were of which political party ? One guess.
