I try to avoid being political on these boards.  But I am a patriot.  Per this article many of these atheletes are kneeling during the anthem just like Kaepernick.  Add baseball to the sports not viewed on my TVs.  I have better pursuits - like riding and tinkering on my bikes.

Unfortunately not viewing doesn't affect them. Not paying to have it brought into your home will affect them.

All the panderers took a knee last night.

Some did stand for the National Anthem. Some didn't.

If I want to see social protest (I don't), I can just watch the TV news (I don't).

If they do it in overpaid sports (where you get paid millions to play fun games), I can stop watching that too.  Those poor professional athletes do not evoke enlightened social justice, just normal anger and disgust (during national Anthems).

My idea of social justice would be for the thousands of fans in the stands (if there were any) to stand, turn and moon the kneeling players with thousands of bare asses.  (But not during the Anthem)

I'd absolutely tune in for that.

If professional (or college) sports can't stop disrespecting the Anthem, just stop playing it entirely.

Play this instead.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jTHNBKjMBU

With all the pandering to political correctness by the owners, league, players and media, at the expense of the anthem, the Looney Tunes theme is all they deserve.  They'll have to pay Disney a royalty, but they can afford it.

Tongue My sentiments exactly. Blows me away to see this action. This is not the place to express or be forced by players/peers or the league for the BIG show.  Sad The owners are spinless/greedy IMO  tied to the $$$ brought in by need for TV revenue. Shame SHAME  coolsmiley

I really enjoy watching the Rays during the winter. Anyone there takes a knee, I'm gone.

I had a funny feeling last year when clubs stopped using Kate Smith’s rendition of “God Bless America” there was more to come down the line but things have gotten way out of hand.

Pretty sure their sponsors want folks who have DISPOSABLE INCOME watching.  I do and I'm not.

Why stop at axing sports channels?

Have not had a cable connection in 6 years. The only benefactors are Main Stream Media including corrupt fake news pounding us with covid fear mongering, prime time pablum programs to indoctrinate the tired overworked population at their weakest moments...after a hard day at work.

We are constantly encouraged to NOT think for ourselves..."trust us, we know what's good for you". The most irritating pablum is situation "comedy" with the ever present laugh track to remind you that this juvenile crap 'comedy' is actually "funny"?? There are far better ways to spend my dollars. Like refilling that 7 gallon fuel tank.

The quickest way to get your country back is to help collapse the six corporations that control everything you see and hear on that 60" flat screen. Don't defund the police...defunding the corporations is the first and most important step by keeping your dollars for better causes like more quality time with family!
