Hi all , like I mentioned before in another thread I had to change the O ring on my interstate fuel Sending unit. Now when I put it back  And  secured the sending unit plate on the tank with the o ring in there of course, I get a leak around the plate, the leak gets worse and gas gashes out when I open the gas cap and slower  when I close lock the lid. very strange , I tried it several times same results, am I over tightening it, am I missing something!!
Note: I’ve had this tank for years never an issue. Thank you all in advance

Did you get the stud fixed ? Is the vent line plugged or kinked ?

I did get the stud fixed, however this happened before that while the tank was on the bench and  before breaking the stud. I’m scratching my head

With the knowledge that you had twisted off one stud already I would have to say that the leak is because you are overtightening the nuts.
