Thanks.  Saw the update on a news feed, glad someone did the time calculation.  Wonder if it will be like watching the Apollo splashdowns.

Still miss the space shuttle. I throughly believed that design was going to be the beginning for the future of space exploration and travel. This rocket design seems like a step back to keep us relevant in space bit all the bells and whistles combined with all the real cool gps navigational control is really cool. The advancement in how the rocket boosters self land is a giant feat in and of itself and combined with all the really cool features in the module itself is a big boost in our ability to move into the forefront of space exploration.... and the rocket looks great too. Hopefully Elon Musk stays fully committed to Space and there will be more to come, bigger, better and taking us further than we ever have gone.

Good luck to those guys today. They’re saying the water in the Gulf is like glass and conditions could not be any better.

Splashdown?

I thought those things came down in reverse and landed in a garage in Burbank.

They splashed down near Pensacola Fl. WAY KEWL!. And I am Aware it didn't happen but all I could think of was a line from-The Right Stuff-spam in a can! All the automated computer controlled sequences appeared to work like they wuz sposed to work. That be a GOOD thing. Two Men safely back on terra Firma-well once they git off the water. RIDE SAFE.

SO far, picture perfect. All that's really left is the recovery ship to pickup the Dragon capsule. The US is BACK in the manned space flight business !!!!

I bet they brought back alien space viruses. We're all going to have to wear giant body condoms now.

Good showing for the space x folks. They got it down to a science for sure.

I appreciate the heads up - but next time, remember that not everyone interested is in the Eastern Time Zone....

Yah, it's only 2:03 here, and I seemed to have missed it.

Link blocked in Canada.

Glad it went safely. I'll wait for the youtube posts.

Um ok. The link I gave provided both the eastern time as well as the UTC time.

How should the time have been posted for future reference?

Just a simple "The splashdown is scheduled for 2:40PM EDT" as an example. Everybody else should be able to figure out for their time zone from that. Thanks.

I heard they brought back alien DNA in order to make some more medicine.  Wink

Nah, just busting your balls for s&&& and giggles. Nothing you could have done, it was over before I heard about it. Didn't even hear it on the news on friday.

But yes, EST (or the like for the time zone) is always nice to know.

Thanks for posting

Ok that’s cool, no big deal. I just re-read your other posting though, was the website really blocked in Canada?

The 1st link posted. Came up as blocked by the provider. And splash down had already happened (was 2pm PST). So I don't know if it was the sender, or a Canadian provider who blocked it, trying to sell their own advertisements while showing the landing.
