Things must really be boring in Florida if the last post was by me a week ago. I get more action than this during winter up here....and you can't even ride then unless you count the dogsled. Stupid sled dogs, I was yelling gee & haw at them and at one point I said gee whiz(referring to the temps) and they all headed for the trees on the right and raised a leg. I can remember which is right and left, why can't they. Really easy....gee has a "g" in it, so does "right"...of course probably helps having driven teams of horses in my youth. C'mon....wake up down there, bad enough I no longer live down there but I look forward to posts by all of you. I did meet up with some of you folks during InZane, good to see old friends. If I can find a place I can afford for 3-4 months, I want to come down for the winter. Might have to set up a cot in someone's garage but beats 2' of snow any day.

I kind of felt the same way John, kept coming back to the board every day and seeing the same old 76 as they say. Pretty doggone boring it is. I have been working on cleaning up our property from having the pine trees cut a year and a half ago. Some tractor work and a lot of piling and burning. Bear almost got me a couple of Saturdays ago, had severe leg cramps, worst I have ever had. Hoping for better conditions in the world soon where we can get out with the RV.

I can’t speak for the others here John, but Patti and I still ride early in the day to beat the heat. We ride to breakfast and then a short ride back to get home before noon. We have gotten heroes at Publix and gone for a picnic down by the lake in Inverness. Citrus has redone the hernando lake front, great place for a picnic now. We will occasionally ride down to the raceway gas station also known as “the dumpster” and chat with Nick or Steve Eddie before we takeoff on our own ride. COVID-19 has definitely changed our ridding habits and we do miss the rides to the forest or the lunch rides to the lakes. We miss our socializing with friends from all parts of Florida. Hopefully it will change at some point.

Well 2020 is different for sure. We were to leave for 6weeks mid August over the pond............. yea, So seeing no trip I started a major project of moving walls and create twice the size of our porch......... I hate aluminum work Sherry is helping with painting and other tasks. Mom passed last week Tuesday so we are going to Dads a lot along with my sister. Sherry and Sally team up for some fantastic diners. Dad is well, I feel the relief and release especially not seeing Mom from late March has really helped. Work: Man! This 92,000sf building is down to 16 workers and we could loose more to furloughs. I am doing a lot more physical work as I have one worker. I lost all part time and one full time and worry about my one FT. In season we can have 12. Thankfully my hard work has paid off and I am secure, shoot more so now. The property in Sylva NC is officially ours and you know that mess. I check the board looking for life as well to find crickets, but it won’t be long and cooler temps will breathe some live into all of us to get out and ride. AND - a pizza party - side note the Nordel Lane at the cottage is newly paved!

John, just so you know the heading to the thread is good and good for getting some of us out of our shell and yes it is somewhat ironic with Moms passing, again all is good. Are you bringing the bike down this winter?

Jerry, if I can find a spot to live out the Wisconsin winter, then yes. I would trailer the bike down so I'd have something to give wind therapy. Not really sure where to begin looking, would have to be reasonable for sure. You don't get overtime pay when retired. Jerry, I was remiss in not addressing your recent loss. I've gone through it as most likely many of the Fla. group, it's not easy either emotionally or financially. If I understood your post correctly, your dad is still alive. He will need emotional support for a long time as well. A suggestion....don't try to muddle through on your own power, we mortals aren't strong enough. My best to you and the family during these difficult times.

Jerry, Roxie and I send our condolences.
John, I would suggest that you start looking for the Winter hideaway as early as possible. Those with that kind of property would probably like to have it booked as early as possible, maybe even for a lower rate, rather than take a chance on no takers later on.

I'm still kicking over here on the east side, I know I haven't posted much lately either. This weird year and the heat has made us all a little reclusive. I do get out for a ride early Saturday mornings, sometimes before sunrise and home by 9a.m. to beat the heat which I endure all week at work. Liz has been working long hours from home and even weekends so that makes her sleep in later than my early bird buttocks. I alternate bikes each week to keep the flat spots off the tires, I'm really enjoying the wing but always love to blast off on the Valk as well. I hope you get down here this winter John and we all can get together for some much needed comaraderie.

Jerry sorry to hear of your Moms passing.
Did about 110 miles last week and lost the clutch about 70 miles into it. It's always interesting trying to time the lights and stop signs without a good way to stop. Shifting wasn't too bad but stopping before you hit the garage door or the back wall was interesting. I think all I need to do is bleed the clutch lines. I hope.

Also sorry to hear about your Mom. Mom's are so special and they leave us with so many amazing memories and smiles.
This board slowed down with the opening of the one on FaceBook. There are still a lot of us not on FB though so we look to this board to see whats going on with our friends. Hint hint!!

Sorry Jerry & Sherry for your loss, condolences to the family. Nothing much going on because of the extreme heat and afternoon showers. I have been getting out 2/3 times a week for an early morning ride, meeting up with Steve and a few locals at the bench up at the speedway. Got to Inzane for a few days, hung around a bit, then me & Don made our way back to Big Mikes Cabin. Heading back up to NC end of October again, and may just continue up to New England after a stop off in NY to visit Family & Friends for a few days. Hopefully by Nov, the Cooties will disappear as fast as it came, and we can just get back to Global Warming & Impeaching Trump again Hope everyone is well, congrats to Pappy & Lesa on the new additions, do we know who the father is, or are we going to support them thru our tax dollars Peace & Love

Well that story sux big time, Bert! I know you are a survivor though. Looks like she got all the work out of you first. I have a few descriptive verbs and nouns but I will keep them to myself. Will be good to see you again at any rate!
