Well, with our American friends most likely being forced to opt out of Valhalla this year due to border restrictions and now with several of our Canadian riders recently announcing that they are opting out as well (all perfectly understandable btw), I'm wondering who will be left to even make it worthwhile holding it this year. Still a month to go, but perhaps it's worth having the discussion at this point.
Lisa's out for sure and I know Gordon is doubtful...along with Steve and Margaret and Jason from SK not coming, that doesn't leave a lot of us left. Who all that  booked into Johnny's is still considering going?

It is with great reluctance that I and Kathy will also have to bow out.

The boarder will likely not open and Covid-19 is still rampant in Washington.

The wife and I, unfortunately are at an age that puts us in the kill zone.

While I realize the percentages are low of contracting the virus if you social distance, wash your hands, wear a mask etc, I always lose in Vegas.

To all my Vermin and VRCC friends, be safe, ride often, be careful and hope to see you after a vaccine appears.

Anyone had any luck cancelling their reservation at Johnny’s? Been calling for 3 days, just get voicemail.

First, I would email. Then you have something in writing.

I'm planing on going, but Tess is doubtful. I just don't know if it will be on my motorcycle or the convertible.

But the US riders make up what? 60-70% of the attendees? If the border is closed, then we will be how many, 10?

I would still like to go, but the bigger questions is, should we? Smaller group a little safer. I was just at Whistler today for work. Tried 3 different restaurants, to eat/rest/washroom, and the sit down one had an hour wait, and the other 2 was take out only with no washroom access. The big City is fine here, but how about on the road, I try to stay away from the big franchise places, and go to local businesses.

Restaurants are lethal . A couple of weeks ago we thought about going into Moose Mulligan's in Sicamous with some car club friends . It was a Covid outbreak waiting to happen uglystupid2! People were jamming through the doors instead of waiting their turn, kids running around screaming and banging into people, washrooms overloaded despite signs limiting occupancy, waitresses in your face trying to hear above the noise, people milling about without any sign of social distancing. Lots of signs being totally ignored by everyone. God only knows what was going on behind the scenes in the kitchen. We did an about face and got the hell out of Dodge. Shocked Shocked Shocked

If you need to cancel and can't get them on the phone johnnysmotel@shaw.ca email works. I got a reply the next day saying they have my cancellation.

The river got us now the Covid-19. Do we try again in June2021?

I'm in for now.  I think that if it gets down to fewer than 8 or 10 singles or couples, cancellation should be seriously considered.

As Gryphon Rider pointed out, the border is now officially closed until Sept 21. So I can comfortable say there will be no USA riders at our Rally this year.

After talking with Mike today, we are going to Officially call the Rally off.

Now, as individuals, I and maybe Tess, MIGHT be still going to Grand Forks. Just have to check out when/how long.

I know Tess has repeatedly said she didn't want to be in a big group, and it seems this has come true. I suspect we could be talking about 10 people might show up?

I'll work on her over this weekend and figure out what we are doing. At this time, I'll say 1 less night, Sept 18-20, and I will definently NOT be bringing the MC. So Big Kahuna, anything is welcome. It's always been about the people. I've shown up before on my convertible, 1100 Shadow and Goldwing.

Hi guys!

I had this event in my calendar, no hotel room booked though.
As of right now I am having some problems with the bike and need a new rear wheel and I am battling some health issues as well.

I hope to get it all sorted out soon and I will follow here, but I am out for the Grand Forks Valhalla meeting this year.

Fingers crossed for a better 2021, can't wait to see you all again!!!!!

I'm sad to report that I have just cancelled my reservation, and I will not be able to make it up to Grand Forks this year.

Tess has already had an eye surgery (cataracts) and is going for another one soon as she can, along with another eye specialist and a gastric bypass specialits/surgery trying to happen sooner than later. Along with the fact she never rescheduled her time off for Sep 17-18, I would have been coming alone.

Christian, how did your rear wheel work out?

To repeat from the “go or no go” thread:
I’m cancelling my reservation. I will still likely be riding through the area, depending on weather, but it will be Sandra and me going and staying where we like.
