About 6 weeks ago while out on the Valk and having stopped at my usual boat launch along the St Johns river I came across a fella walking circles around my Teal beauty, he was in awe and telling his buddies how this is the bike he wants to buy. We get to talking and he explains he really wants to buy his buddies Valk that has been sitting 6 years, an 01 standard Blue/white but doesn't know where he could get the carbs rebuilt.   uglystupid2  Today I went to have a look before he purchased it ($2500), rode there of course and Jims99 came along, (thanks Jim)   What a beauty,  Shocked   18k miles and who can pick out the big dollar bling ? Story is he had a guy do the carbs back in 14 using stock honda parts along with a new petcock and it didn't run well after that he said, his  carb guy vanished and so she has sat. The tank looked good inside although a varnish smell, he had treated what little gas was in there way back when. I agreed to give it a go to get her back on the road. I figure carbs,, fluids, especially the brakes and clutch, probably need calipers rebuilt, needs tires obviously so rear service. He agreed with my assessment and price estimate although I said it will be a couple months until it cools off some before i could start. He understands and will trailer it to me when the garage is open for bidnez again.  cooldude  Let's keep these Valkyries rolling.

The three of us went to breakfast at a new joint called the Maple Street Biscuit company to sample the Biscuits and gravy, that was very good A+, . And as Jim and I headed south from Jacksonville we did get caught in some heavy rain even though I changed course a bit as it was clear we were headed for dark skies, oh well I guess we needed a rinse off anyway.

Good score for the buyer.  Maybe the seat trim chrome, although there are several nice chrome pieces like the side covers and rear fender rack.
This makes me feel better about your recovery Mike.  I don't think you would offer to take on the project if you weren't feeling better.

Well done! That is one heck of a lot of bike for that kind of money!
Make sure you do the fuel rails for him. They are certainly old enough to need it this time around.

Nice, Sixlow!  I always liked the blue with white stripes on it.  This was like one of the first Valks that I looked at to purchase, but it was in Melborne,  FL close the beach and had a lot of rust on it from sitting outside all the time.  I had to pass on it.

Thanks Mike. It was a great ride ( even with the rain). Nice people and a great breakfast. Have to do it again soon.
