Hi everyone,

I just came back from  the Honda dealership. I asked them to change my rear wheel bearings and it turns out that I have a problem. One bearing would just fall in and can be taken out easily as well. The mechanic said I need a new rear wheel...

Anybody here have a wheel for sale? I need the 2J wheel.

Thanks and cheers,

Christian

Sorry, my spare is on my bike with a reasonable new tire, awaiting a rear wheel/tire change to a car tire. I don't know when I'll be able to swap it out.

Knowing you, you're looking for a quick replacement so you can get out their and ride again?

I would hate to offer my mounted powder coated wheel and Austin TT.

Hmm, just looking at the picture, it might be a J1L rim. I need to compare my 2 wheels, I think my GW rear rotor is an old style and I'm good.

I've used LocTite bearing retainer on wheel bearings on wheel loaders with good result.  Loctite has a help line for tech support if you want a recommendation on product and procedure to ensure you get the best chance of it being successful.  Their recommendation may vary by the amount of clearance you are dealing with.

here's the main page    https://www.loctite.com/en/channel-switch/canada.html

good luck

I've used the center punch method to increase the interference fit on bearing housings with good results.  It's as easy as it sounds. I can send you some pictures if you are going to do this.

@Gordon: yes, yours is a 1J wheel. The 2J wheels have retractable screws on the brake disc.

Thanks everyone for the help, tips and offers!!!

I found a used wheel on ebay and just ordered it. I will keep my old wheel and get it fixed over the winter months. A couple of buddies are arguing about the best method already, this will be fun ;-)

Have a great Sunday and thanks again!!!!!
