I was recently told that due to the "Pandemic" the state of Mississippi was looking for Poll Workers.   I assume they don't think the regulars will be coming to help out that day.   Regardless, I volunteered.

Anyone else ever done this.   Although though I vote every opportunity I get, I've never been on that side of the effort.   I'm told it's a long day and I know there is mandatory training required.   I don't know that I will get the opportunity to do this but, am willing if called upon.

So, have any of you been a Poll Worker?   If so, tell me about it.

(Actually, I heard about the Poll Worker issue on the local news)

Well, here in NYS its a big deal. As it should be. My wife is a political animal and has to work the polls which means we can't leave for the winter until the following day.

This year things have changed. Some of the voting facilities are closed/changed. Workers have to go thru yearly training. This year masks, face shields and gloves are required to be worn by the workers. This is the first year in about 40 that my wife says she is not working. Its about an 18 hour day and she doesn't want to be a garbed up for that length of time.

So we will get to head south early this year. Now we'll have to wait until I get the garlic planted.  Smiley

I'm somewhat surprised no one else here has done the election worker thing.
I figure that I'm not doing much else, might as well see it I can contribute.
Who knows, I might be able to not stand in line to vote.  Wink

I've never done it before. But I've thought about it for this year. I'm sure there is a need.
