I'm trying to get the intake off to replace the O-rings.  I've removed the insulator screw and the two manifold bolts.  The intake doesn't want to slide out of the insulator and I'm afraid to force it.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dave

They can be stubborn, but if you've loosened the band screws and removed the bolts they'll come loose eventually..

Okay!  I got the first one off.  Should I put any kind of lubricant with the new O-ring?

You can just grab the tube and pull and it'll come right out with little effort.
I don`t use any lubrication.

Also, I've heard that polishing the intakes can improve the horsepower.  While I've got them off I thought I might do this.  what would you recommend?

I'm not sure about the lube. Becareful when you slide the intake in that it doesn't roll up the o-ring. Where did you get yours at? I needed to do mine for awhile. I have gasket sealer on mine!  crazy2

I did this years ago when everyone was doing it. Its not mention much anymore. I wouldn't waste my time. I could tell no differance. I think having it ruff is better then smooth, from what I've seen.

Nice avatar also!  cooldude
