I'm perpetually screwing around on mini details on my bike and mirrors are a sore spot for me.
I dont like mirrors standing tall on the bike. Its crazy I know, but reminds me of MickeyMouse ears...
And especially other bikes with tall stalks and round mirrors...

Anyhoo, I decided to experiment and make a shorty stalk and see what it looks like..
I made it out of the mirror in the pic, geez, it must be from an old 80s bike...

(got any laying around? the diameter of the stalk ia 10 mm and the angle is 120 degrees...need another)
To go with it bought a cheap set of EMGO small cruiser mirrors to try out....
In the pic, its the one on the far right... 2nd from left is OEM, and 2nd from right is aftermarket.

On bike shorty... low low...

Shorty

OEM

I like the lower profile of it. Putting the geek hat on, I'm wondering if since its shorter/smaller, the primary vibration frequency will be higher than stock, and maybe at speed it would be a problem. Dunno till I ride the bike.

If I made a batch of say, 50 or around there, any other standard bike  guys interested in grabbing a set?
Quality will be OEM or better..... and waaaay better than my mock up one.  cooldude

I like looks as well as the next guy (and I like the looks of those), but mirror height is really related to rider height.

Taller guys really need taller mirrors, though glass angle can make up for some of it.  The idea is being able to use them effectively without moving the head, only the eyes.

Wider guys may need wider mirrors, as some of them are looking at their own upper body and shoulders in half the mirror.

I do have those teardrop mirrors (which look far better than OE squares) with shorter stems on one of my interstates, though I've turned the stalks around so they go straight up.

I have to see how it goes, once the bike is on the road, I am figuring that I will be able to see around me to the side. Wont know till I try it. It may turn out to be a "whoops" and I get a good view of my shoulders.  Cheesy
