Ok. First, his father's viewpoints are not relevant at all. Second, in this country, we try criminals, we do not shoot them in the back on the street. Third, Blake was unarmed and facing away from the officers at the time that the officer fired at him 7 times, striking him 4 times. Blakes children were in the car and could easily have been struck by one of the bullets.
If multiple police officers cannot take a single unarmed man into custody without using firearms, perhaps they are not fit to serve in that capacity.
If you can get the criminal to court without committing another crime then yes we do try them. When Jacob Blake was confronted he had a warrant out for his arrest. He disobeyed the orders of the officers with guns drawn so he knew the seriousness of the situations, I doubt you or me would move in this situation.
Although there was no gun Blake said he was going to get a gun in his car by police. In any case you have someone on warrant not heeding commands, not standing still and not even caring about the kids in the car and putting them in harms way by his own actions in NOT obeying a police officer. As an officer anyone doing these things needs to be stopped in any way possible.
The fact that you dont address that Blake not the officer put his own children in danger, the police reacted to the situation they did not cause the situation and Blake may have caused traumatic mental issues in his children in seeing their father shot first hand. I personally would never allow my children to see or be put in harms way if I was in this kind of situation.
In his up bringing we see the hate by his fathers views and the fact that his mother did not want a big fuss over him. This is very relevant since it led to his actions and his own personal decisions that his actions were ok for him.
You seem to not accept that we have to accept the blame for our actions. The police want to go home at the end of the day, they did not make the warrant nor the reasons behind it nor the train wreck of a life that Blake lived.
I am very shocked when you see a less than stellar member of society get the treatment that would be given to anyone else and do not regard the wake of destruction for personal lives, feelings, and peril that he put everyone else in by his own actions.
Just one last thing, if the person being shot stops all movements the bullets will stop. Do you know if this was the case? I bet it was not the first bullet that caused him to be paralyzed and that is what probably stopped the shooting. The fact that he was shot at 7 times and hit 4 and was still alive says yes they needed to continue shooting him. It was his dumb luck he was even alive. Im pretty sure that once the first bullet hits you know the situation is desperate and will stop all movements.
Now lets hear your comments on this.
