I feel terrible, I heard the news of the crash but never read anything about it on national level of media.

It was just posted today on this site which is usually pretty quick with news.

https://www.nj.com/ocean/2020/08/2-soldiers-including-brick-resident-die-in-helicopter-training-crash-army-says.html

“Two soldiers, including one from Brick, died Thursday during a training exercise when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed, Army officials announced Saturday.”

“Staff Sgt. Vincent P. Marketta, 33, of Brick and Sgt. Tyler M. Shelton, 22, of San Bernardino, California, died in the exercise on San Clemente Island, California, according to a statement from the Army.“

I don’t know this man or his family.

Rest In Peace Staff Sgt. Marketta

My condolences to the entire crew's family.   Have had my own unit's birds go down and it leaves everyone with an saddened heart for a long time.

1st or 2nd cruise I made we dumped at sea an SH3A anti submarine helicopter. Entire crew lost only the co pilot found still strapped in his chair but no chopper. I seem to remember talking with some of those enlisted types tween launches and recoveries. And as those of us who have Served we KNOW that risk Never goes away long as we wear The Uniform. R I P Gentlemen.  angel Always sad when Our Military guys and gals die-whether in training or in combat.  Cry RIDE SAFE.
