32nd Annual Lake of The Ozarks Shootout.

Power boats from All over the country converge on The Lake of The Ozarks for this. Timed runs over 3/4 of a mile and this years Top Gun-American Ethanol at 202 M P H. Even had pontoon boats in the high 60 low 70 M P H range. Water was a bit choppy but still some good runs. They had an auction last night that helps raise funds for the Fire Dept dive teams and local Fire depts. That auction ran a bit over 6 hrs and they raised-over $306000.00. I'd say The Shootout KNOWS How to hold an auction.
Really a touching story relayed by one of the Lady boat drivers. Young boy been thru 23 brain operations and couple years ago this young man was given a ride in a Loud power boat. They got the young boy and his parents seated in the boat the driver hit the starter button the boy flinched and his Mother started crying. This lady driver asked what's wrong? Mother stated he had NOT smiled since the operations. He Smiled when that boat was started. Reminds me a bit of those Special Kids we hosted at Eureka Springs. Anywho just thought I'd pass this along. RIDE SAFE.
