I would really like to add an additional fuse box like the eastern beaver PC-8, but I'm no electrician. Do I only need to get the PC-8 box and that will come with everything I need, or do I need to also get the powerlink relay or some other relay kit offered?
I'd like to add a dedicated circuit for phone charging along with a bluetooth dongle to pass phone audio through the IS speakers. I'm also wanting to add heated gear this winter and I'm planning to purchase jacket, pants, gloves and socks (though maybe just the jacket and gloves to begin with and add the pants and socks later if necessary). No other electrical add on plans at this point.

You need the relay and wiring setup. (Or make up your own)

Serk, where did you end up putting your PC-8? I'm thinking behind the right side cover. M6 ring terminals?

I tucked it into the compartment behind the battery where I think the OEM tool kit and owner's manual went... A side panel installation would probably be a little cleaner (Be sure to measure the distance and order the right length of leads to reach the destination you want to use!) The M6 ring terminals are just metal rings that go over the battery posts...

Unless one puts it on a hinge like MarkT did.

I just redid all the wiring on my bike... I also went with the PC8, put the relays in the box under seat and the PC8 sitting right on top...plenty of room

I posted some details and photos of my PC8 install a few years ago. http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,90482.msg893212.html#msg893212A few others added photos of their installs so you can get a few ideas. Hope it helps.

Me,too! What Gondul said. And on the I/S, there's room behind the right inner fairing cover for another PC-8, for foglights, charger, heated gear, etc. And plenty room behind the left inner fairing cover for an (admittedly) copycat relay setup to power two Marco Tornado horns. Eastern Beaver makes nice stuff, and it's simple enough for non-electricians!

I have found that for electric heat, a long-sleeved jacket liner and glove liners are enough down to a few degrees below freezing, especially with long johns, jeans, and leather chaps on my legs. I hate having a bunch of ring terminals on my battery posts, and prefer only having the single original connection on each post. Instead, I draw power for my auxiliary fuse block from the bottom of the 55A fusible link (its black cover says "FUSE - FUSIBLE"), behind the right side cover. IIRC, this required carving a little bit of plastic off to allow the connection. I connect most of my added grounds through a ground bus connected to the screw that fastens the right end of the centre cover. I used brass screws and anti-oxidant paste (not dielectric grease) to prevent corrosion. You can barely see my red power wire behind the smaller red wire which powered my air horn compressor (now gone). It goes from the bottom of the fusible link to the fuse block, located behind the battery.
