So the Harley version of the nickel trick is to send a nickel into shallow earth orbit?

12 month warranty is ambitious though.

It costs $6,195 for oil cooled engines or $6,395 for the Twin Cooled version.

So I'd basically have to sell both bikes to pay for it.  (and put it on my lawnmower)

I’m thinking it was designed and brought to market for sufferers of ED. When it’s time to perform you just go out to the garage and crank it up and be erect in no time.

Harley says the engine’s built to run at high rpm and torque levels are taken to new highs from the first crack of the throttle.

The article mentions "high RPM". Wonder what high rpm means to Harley?

Someone please start a GoFundMe so I can get a Magnacharger for my Valk. I want to make sure I can still embarrass the local crew when some of the yahoos start throwing these in their HDs.

I can't speak to the 131 but I've ridden a few bikes with the 107 Milwaulkee 8 and it's pretty good.  Feels a lot more refined and torquey than previous HD's.

I have a couple of friends that have 107s, and your experience matches theirs and many other reviews I am aware of.  And of course now the 114 is standard in a lot of models.  Harley though is in real trouble with sales continuing to slide and dealerships closing at an alarming rate.  A number of shops have brought out bigger displacement engines with better numbers than this 131.  Maybe Harley is trying to cash in on this market, I would assume so.  Best of luck to them, because I hate to see what is going on.  It will shake itself out.  I am pretty sure though my next V twin will be an Indian with the Powerplus 108 as plans are now to put this engine in other models after the success with the Challenger.

Moody's is skeptical of Harley-Davidson's 'Rewire,' sees extended erosion of motorcycle market

https://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/news/2020/09/11/moodys-skeptical-of-harley-davidsons-rewire-plan.html

Despite Harley-Davidson Inc.’s ambitious “The Rewire” restructuring under new president and CEO Jochen Zeitz, Moody’s Investors Service downgraded the company’s debt rating due to long-term erosion in Harley’s core North American heavyweight motorcycle market and the need to successfully deliver on the promises of the restructuring initiative.

Personally, I wouldn't invest in HD stock, it's downward death spiral is obvious.   There is less interest in motorcycles overall and as our generations age, there will be even less sales.   I'm not a V Twin fan so, my opinion on HD is obviously tainted.   Mother Honda seems to have it's finger on the pulse of this industry much more so than HD.

Now, if Mother Honda designers would just figure out that not everyone likes Tupperware on their bikes, they might sell me a new one.   Their bikes are head and shoulders above HD's IMHO.   But, my opinion isn't of any value to anyone but myself.
