I have used this flashlight almost everyday and it has never let me down. its not cheap over 100.00 but its rechargeable and is always ready and always bright. There are other flashlights on this site 800 lumens is about the least lumens I would get. I do have one flashlight that is 3000 lumens and that is much better as far as illumination the problem is after just a few minutes the flashlight goes down to about 2000 lumens and stays there pretty much. I would never have another flashlight that is not rechargeable. I dont really understand what you want it for but these will fit anything you could possibly want them to do. https://www.streamlight.com/products/detail/index/stinger-ds-led-hlRechargeable, Dual Switch 800 Lumen Flashlight Torch https://www.batteryjunction.com/ln-flashlights.htmlWith this flashlight I stopped someone wanting to do something stupid. It momentarily blinded and disoriented him so that he could be stopped fairly easily. https://www.streamlight.com/products/detail/index/ultrastinger-led

I've had a 5 D cell mag lite for a long time. It is a great club, but a pretty crummy light, given old tech bulbs vs modern LEDs (and others). I have multiple small lights that give way more light. Though it's pretty heavy in the wielding (or carrying) department. As clubs go, I'd probably rather have a lighter one.
In fact, one good overhead swing to a head would make it pretty lethal, so if you were using it defensively, you'd need to temper your swing and target with whether you are objectively in fear of death or great bodily injury or not. Otherwise, it's arms, legs, knees, and nuts and avoid the head.
Of course, the idea (for many) is to have a defensive club that serves a lawful purpose (flashlight) rather than a standard billy (or any other striking weapon) that is ONLY made for being a weapon (and often thus illegal or at least regulated under state laws). Especially if it will be kept in a car, boat, yada. You can do what you want in your house or on your property.
I remember truckers used to (or maybe still do) carry those tire whackers that were great clubs, but supposedly had a legitimate purpose to have in the truck. Though I could never understand how whacking a tire is much of a scientific test, as opposed to say a tire gauge. (I guess similar to knocking on melons, which I never mastered either).
My 5D has sat for years by my front door. It's never once been used as a light. I also have 2D, 2C, 3C mag lights and a couple mini mags, but all have been retired from providing actual light by more modern and far better lights. No batteries in them to bleed out, but I can't bring myself to just throw them away.
I also have a traditional cherry wood billy, and a small aluminum baseball bat which is (by far) the best club I own, though it does not go in any vehicle.
So a 6D is not a very good flashlight, and a decent but not optimal club, but it does have a legitimate purpose other than a club.
Caveat: They've been around for decades, and it seems likely that at least some state laws are going to treat one as a straight up weapon, so check your state and local laws.
I see the 2d one is a 6D LED but I have no idea how good the light is.

The 6D cell LED one would be my choice. I've had every standard D cell Maglite made at one time or another. The light output is weak compared to modern LED tech, even on the 5 and 6 cell versions. The entry price is obviously much higher for the LED version, but the light is bound to be better, and the business end still has 6 D cell batteries in it.
As has been said, there are modern flashlights the size of a pen that will light up a room, but they don't have the "usability" that a machined aluminum tube with weight in it can achieve.

I'm no expert but, I have a good friend that has an excellent flashlight that mounts to his "Personnel Control Device. Pretty sure it's sold by Smith and Wesson. Seems like a great combination to me. Brings the term, "Light'em Up" to a whole different meaning and changes a lot of attitudes when the light comes on. Rams

That's the general idea - discourage the troublemaker from escalating it - after all, I turn 60 this month...

Those are nice lights, but I think he was looking for something with more beef than 4ozs (and a poke in the eye).

Now that's an interesting idea - Impinge their ability to respond without actually hurting them. Should pass muster with LEOs if it was asked....

Now that's an interesting idea - Impinge their ability to respond without actually hurting them. Should pass muster with LEOs if it was asked.... we have one wife works for the company Rayovac who recently sold to Energizer. We use to get batteries and flashlights, etc. for basically cost being 1/2 price or so of retail. Only thing is batteries do not last very long, but blinding the beegeezers out of someone is easier to do than knocking them over the head. LOL Plus, has a lifetime warranty so even if you do knock them out with it, is free replacement for life. With fresh batteries, or now they make rechargeable one for over double the cost, it is INSANELY bright will light up our entire farmers field behind our house a good 100 yards deep or so much like one of those 1,000,000 candlelit power deer shining lights that plug into a vehicles cigarette lighter of which I have one of those as well.... No deer were harmed in the making of this ... Like said, if you see at night looters or wanna be robbers fleeing, shine it out there and more than likely you will see them to get off a good shot at them.
