InZane XXI will be held in Athens. Ohio.
Dates: June 13 (Early Bird) to June 18, 2021.

Hotel rates will be $99, $109, and $119/night.
We weren't able to get breakfast included, but they will give a breakfast discount at their restaurant.

We have a lot of great things in the works!
I'm really excited about the Hocking Valley Railway train ride and lunch (https://www.hvsry.org).

It's going to be epic!  You don't want to miss this one!

For info on area roads, go to https://www.windy9.com

Just one suggestion.  Instead of dropping down through Chicago, ride across Michigan UP and come down through Michigan.  A few extra miles, but sooo worth it.

Rode part of the Triple Nickel yesterday that had just been resurfaced--fantastic.  So looking forward to this.  Lots of camping nearby Athens for those of you interested.  The state parks can fill up, so make your reservations sooner than later if this is your druthers over whatever hotel staff has lined up.

The odds are probably quite high.  June is the optimal month for our rallies.  July & Aug are too hot.  Non summer months a lot of ppl have trouble getting vacation time.

I just went looking for this thread so that I could put in for vacation next year.

I couldn't remember the dates.

And when I finally found it, it was on page 7.

We REALLY need to "BUMP" this thread once in awhile.

Or maybe it could get pinned to the top?

+1 It really is beautiful up there.

Also you won't have to ride through Chicago.

It's easy to bypass Detroit coming from the UP as well.

Being new to the forum I'm seeing this thread for the first time.

I was born and raised about 20 miles from the Ohio border in southwestern PA.  I have family in Syracuse, OH.  I've made the trip to that area many times.  My brother, who still lives in my home town of New Brighton, PA has a Goldwing and I suspect he'd be interested in making the trip as well.  Is it permitted to bring a guest who isn't a forum member and doesn't ride a Valkyrie along for this event?

coming together and having fun riding motorcycles... this InZane
was far away from me, so it was also about a several week adventure  cooldude ...

I'd love to, but I have a musket match that goes through Sunday.  Can't leave SC until Monday morning.

Musket match sounds intriguing! I've got a few, but never shot 'em competitively..... Look for me when you get there, would love to hear about it! (I'm easy to spot, the loud mouth that's had a few too many in the parking lot, that's 6'7" with a long pony tail..... Wink )

I’m sure it’s probably too late to make a change, but it would be great if this years charity was somehow related to helping out the deaf community in honor of Bill Ferguson.

Yes, We've already committed to a brain injury foundation.  But it might be something to loot at for next year.

I agree!!!   If you by chance never crossed the Mackinac Bridge on a bike before......Well.....that was a "white knuckle" ride!   It was in later Fall, and windy.   Then you are looking down to the water through the grating.   Of which your tires never want to follow in a straight line!   Shocked

I was thinking of making the ride from Washington State. My parents live in Cincy.  And this coincides with their 52nd wedding anniversary.

Telling them about this they mentioned that this year is the 17 year explosion of the Group X Cicadas.  One of the largest groups.

For those that live in the Group X area: What is it like riding? or just parking your bike?  Do they swarm in large groups causing a hazard to riding?

We have pine beetles that are easily 2+ inches in size, like cicadas can get, and they hurt.  But they also dont' come out in the multi-millions.

Thanks.

AND!!   If you have the time,  spring for the tour, to the top of the Mackinac bridge.   550 feet!!    May as well be in an an Airplane!!

Yea......never done it.  I went up to the top of a Ski jumping place in upper Michigan.   That was only about 250 feet.  The Elevator opened at the top, and Wife just turned around and went back down.  That was high enough for me also!  But did look around a bit.

My bad.  I guess the Ski jump I was at, was about that high......500 feet.

Yea.....I did some high speed down hill Skiing.....but this is too much for me!!  If you can find the time and miles, there is a LOT of neat stuff to see in the UP!!   The "Shipwreck Museum" also comes to mind.....NOT sure if they are open now?
