The effect of Covid

No not what you might think. I have worked for the City of Sarasota over 11 years now managing the facilities of the Van Wezel performing arts hall, a theater with 1741 seats. We closed and locked the doors to any outsiders saving Vendors in March. Well even if the government allows shows without the distance rule there are so few shows that are even interested in booking that the season that coincides with snowbirds to florida is not looking good. There were some furloughed and I’m not sure if more will. I lost 15 PT workers in March and one full time a month later. The building and all projects have been in the hands of myself and one other. I also have one worker that only does janitorial and grounds. As a Gov worker I have large sums of banked time off saved so I will be able to take time off in the cooler months that was never possible before. Hoping to enjoy some rides! I do hope the following year is back to full shows as this 92,000 sf building is needing life. With Just a handful of workers it sure is quiet.

Not to worry, Jerry!
The virus will go away on November 4th!
Until then we will have a survival rate that is now up to 98.4%.
Florida's Governor has just opened up the state so we will see how that fares. Hopefully you will be back to full staff soon.

Well I can surely say I have never held a job before where I have my own awesome star dressing room with full bathroom.
