Got in about a 144 mile loop yesterday. I'm thinkin here Phatt Ghurl was maybe tryin to git me in trouble cuz she was itchin fer the go fast routine!  Roll Eyes Anywho 60 W into Mountain Grove and top up the fuel and get onto MO 95 S and once out of town I'm noticing a bit of haze again-W T H kaliphonia fires still messin up the air? What I did notice on that stretch and other stretches that in cluded MO 14 E to MO 181 S all the way to Gainsville was a really mixed bag of color and lack of color and in some instances leaves already on the roadway.  Lips Sealed Most of the fir type trees alrady looking really dull green stead of that bright green I'm used to and like. The broad leafs were a mixed bag. Some colors were struttin their stuff while others will Not make the cut. And other leaves as already noted have committed suicide. And the ones on the ground were a Very Dull brownish. High 70s low 80s the humidity weren't bad and the sun while still slightly hazy was some brighter than the last couple weeks. On 95 S just past MO 76 is a long downhill straight stretch And I finally gave in to Phatt Ghurls desires-I'd already slowed down a bit at 76 intersection was in 3d gear and lets just say I heard that sweet sound og 6 G on the tach in 3d and continued shifting and twisting the throttle and I was a bit past ridiculus even for me!  2funny Had her flirtin with a buck twenty five! And damn That felt Good!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

good to hear you got some wind time and no cops around... Evil

My luck I get it up to near 100 (good enough for me) and the cop is sitting down the road.  They patrol the main road going thru our county daily but have in some instances on one rural country road I like to ride agressively corner to corner to corner doing 65-70 mph around 45 mph corners seen the cop coming my way right at me.    Surprise at least that one time he did not pull me over?

cookie-I live in a very rural area. Once I get off US 60 and head N or S off of it onto the 2 lanes here bouts during the week it's log trucks and farm tractors and on weekends it's farm tractors and folks goin bout their personal bisness. Yesterday All the pieces fell into place-no/none/nada slow movers to keep me from carvin!  2funny And Now with those leaves committin suicide and those damp mornings we already have All the ridin skills I have or don't have Will come into play. And for too long some frost on bridges and shady corners.  Lips Sealed Also noticed yesterday a Distinct Lack of other M/Cs out!  Undecided In the 144 miles I rolled could count them on one hand! Coulda shoulda didn't! RIDE SAFE.

I hear yah on the icy roads in shady conditions when temps dip in the 30s at night.  I once outside another close by town went up a steep hill shaded by the cliffside in the morning in late March thinking all the snow is gone should be o.k. right?   Saw water at first going over the road and hit a patch of ice going steep uphill with cliff (luckily with guardrail) on right side.  I slide it sideways gingerly on the icy patch but luckily was not that long of ice patch to go down.

I never lost traction on leaves on the road though, at least not yet.    Around here also besides tractors gotta watch out for the Amish horse buggies coming over the hill.  You can hear the clip clop of their hooves over the sound of the Valk engine as you pass.

105 mph tops here as the shield comes into play so to speak. With the lowers on definitely less turbulence but haven't went past the century mark with them, yet. And looks like the lowers will be going on today as it is very fall like here today @ 68 degrees cloudy, and breezy.

I also got a ride in. Went past the old homestead.  We moved to Round Lake Illinois in 1950. (?)
I have been past the home several times , but this time , the home was involved in a fire. It looks like the upper floor and the kitchen below was damaged.  The house is still standing and may be repairable.
I drove around the old haunts and they brought back a lot of memories.
