Try to keep it on topic, but I don't care about drifts that much if it's interesting.

Best news today.  The good guys (policemen) got him.

Deonte Lee Murray, the man accused in the ambush shooting of two Los Angeles County deputies in Compton earlier this month, has been charged with attempted murder, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

And another wounded officer returns to duty.

I woke up on the green side of the lawn and I have 2 functional Valkyries in my garage, a wonderful family and a wife that mostly puts up with me and my proclivities.

2funny no, I got some kick back on the table saw, and my catlike reflexes saved me. (That's as much luck as I can hope for these days)

I ordered new gloves for my blast cabinet through Amazon. An Amazon truck chain got them to my city Post Office on time. After that, they vanished went to Dallas and then wound up classified as lost by Amazon. I got a quick refund.
8 days later they showed up in a destroyed envelope, wax pencil written wrong address, with a viscous substance all over them. It was some kind of detergent with a sweet smell. Using proper PPE, I thoroughly rinsed them and then sun dried them.
I installed and used them today. Very pleased with size and performance. Can’t argue with free.

Saved almost $1,000.00 today because the $65.00 a square foot granite the wife liked got sold out from under us and the second choice was only $50.00 a square foot. In my world that qualifies as good news and the wife is happy with the outcome.

We're into a nice Indian Summer here. Had one of my best days fishing in recent memory yesterday on my favorite trout stream, and got home in time for a ride around the lake on my new old Wing.

Glad you're mostly ok!
And grateful to live in America....my heartfelt thanks to those heroes who have fought / still fight to keep it free.

Also good news: my beloved FlyinJenni2 frequently needs a bug bath with half-and-half hydro peroxide & water, but not currently....

....she smells a bit like Lemon Pledge.... 2funny

Had a great visit with two old and dear friends that we only get to see two to three times a year now that we are separated by a couple of hundred miles.
Butch was one of my mentors some years back when I joined up with our volunteer fire department.  He and a couple of other men taught us younger and inexperienced fellows what we needed to know to become proficient and responsible firemen.  He was truly a man of honor and integrity in support of his boyhood home area; he welcomed me to support my adopted town and area with as much love for it as he had.  His wife, Sharon, is a peach and the love of his life.

We are both old now, but our friendship endures, our respect for each other abides.
I call him "the big brother that I never had".

A fine, warm fall day in the beautiful western Colorado mountains. Smiley
