Take the newer one. Bring up the rear.  Grin

I rode my Standard for the first time in a few years yesterday, it felt.... odd to me... I got used to it again after half an hour or so but was still just not the "Orchestra of man and machine, working together as one" I was used to...

I don't have that feeling when riding non-Valks for some odd reason...

The guy I bought the 01 from had it set up just like my 99
even has the Triple Tips I have been looking for.
Favorite would have to be the Fast Black.

I am guessing you are talking about the Interstate. I have a friend
in South Carolina with one and the next time we ride we are going
to swap for a while. Never rode one. Last time I swapped rides with
a friend I was on my first Valk a new 01 Standard. He was on his
new 2002 CBR 954RR. After a few miles I found out it was a
6 speed. Something about that riding position makes me not
realize how fast I am going. I finally looked down at the
speedometer and quickly pulled over and got my Valk back after
he finally caught up before I killed myself.

True, I could ride the GW but mirrors are moving too much and I haven't fixed them yet.. gotta have mirrors.

Aside from that, I don't like riding it much any more, compared to the Valk it's just not the same experience.. I'm now officially spoiled  Grin

I like swapping bikes and riding different things. I'm gonna ride he Dyna today, just put new Apes on it. I need to clean out the Slave Cylinder on the 98 so I can ride her. I have 6 bikes now and that 98 is still my favorite.

I've never owned more than one road bike before, until recently acquiring my '78 Wing. It's been 19+ years since I've ridden anything other than my Interstate, so the new/old naked Wing is a completely different riding experience. It's a lot of fun, and I find myself hopping on it when going into town to run a quick errand or go on a nice solo ride through the farmlands and countryside locally. Heading out with the Mrs or to go on a longer day ride, it's still the Valk. Like I said the Wing is fun to bomb around on and brings me back to my very early days of riding, but I doubt I'll ever find something else that will replace the overall experience and close bond that I've developed with my beloved Interstate.
