During his first year at Syracuse University College of Law, Biden was accused of plagiarizing five of fifteen pages of a law review article. As a result, he failed the course and had to retake it.
So Proven Liar.
Draft dodger liar?
Biden received student draft deferments during this period in college. After he completed his studies, the Selective Service System classified him as unavailable for service due to a history of asthma.
Yet Biden played halfback for the Fightin' Blue Hens freshman football team, and defensive back for the varsity at University of Delaware. And Biden attended the Archmere Academy in Claymont, where he was a standout halfback and wide receiver on the high school football team; he helped lead a perennially losing team to an undefeated season in his senior year. He played on the baseball team as well. Academically, he was a poor student.
Yet after all of these sport yrs, he all of a sudden has asthma when he is drafted.
Conclusion Draft Dodger.
He has said he was top in his class. lied again.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965 from the University of Delaware in Newark, with a double major in history and political science and a minor in English. He graduated with a "C" average, ranked 506th of 688 in his graduating class.

I was shocked to see that Yahoo had posted it. I started reading it, figuring they'd tow the line and claim it was untrue, but they actually confirmed it. Of course, it wouldn't make it on to the news. Not that I watch the news. Proven to be untrustworthy over and over.

Hmmm, is that something new? I was born with asthma, also have some pretty severe allergies. Was offered Recon when I was in the Marines but that required a 4 year enlistment and I was only a two year active guy (and wanted to go back to college). BTW, my draft number (the last year of the draft) was 38. Went back to college and joined the US Army upon graduation and went to flight school for R/W. Did that for the rest of my time. The asthma thing might be true for high altitude flight or for fast movers, not sure. Rams |

I was told all pilots and read it back in '77 while in high school, that any allergies or asthma after age of 13 prevented that career choice. I did read in the late '80s that, that didn't apply to non-fixed wing training. As u know the rules do and can get changed. Bottom line having asthma does not prevent a person from being drafted, esp since he was a lawyer and would have went in as an officer and have been put in the legal depts. |

I also understand ole joe claims he graduated top of the list from SU. I remember him stating that. But it appears he graduated 57th of 62. So he had the makings of a professional politician even before he became one.

I have spurs that "jingle jangle jingle". In my right ankle from a bike wreck in 1970. Didn't stop me from being drafted with lottery #41. So I enlisted in the AF to get a better opportunity - and had a lot of trouble in basic training from the spur - never able to jog, play tennis, impact sports etc since. Of course I didn't have a rich daddy with desire to use the spur. As a matter of fact, he wanted me to go in to get rid of me - and called on his buddy senator Proxmire to force that - while he helped my coward brother dodge the draft with a CO deferment - who became a preacher (and hypocrite) to back up his story and is a coward to this day. Who was defrocked for boinking a married parishener while he was married. I was an asshole teenager so getting rid of me was one option I suppose. At a time when lots of boys were returning from the nam in body bags. I never forgave him for that and other malfeasance. Haven't pissed on his grave yet and not likely as he can no longer do worse than he did. But I digressed. A bone spur in a joint like an ankle is definitely debilitating. My ankle swelled up such that I couldn't wear combat boots. Marching, running, the confidence course were all difficult and painful. Would definitely impede a foot soldier or Marine. I wouldn't want to try to do that with my ankle. Didn't stop a Weapons Mechanic REMF however. |
