This is from a woman on FB.

"PROUD DEMOCRAT". That is the cover photo that was used on my Facebook page. I am 57 years old and have never voted for a Republican.
I have a picture of my Mother with Hillary Clinton that I had sitting on my dresser. I would argue with anyone that said they were voting for Trump. I refused to use the words, "Trump" and "President" in the same sentence. "He is NOT my President!", I would stubbornly tell anyone.
I still don't know exactly when things changed. I feel like it started when I watched Nancy Pelosi tear up the Presidents speech. I was for the first time ever embarrassed of the Democratic party. Then there was the impeachment. I drive 1.5 hours to work each way every day and I would listen to CNN the whole ride. I was not only embarrassed but honestly angry at how it seemed the President was being setup. I started secretly listening to Fox News on the way to work and CNN on the way home. I had never listened to Fox News before as I was always told by fellow party members that it is not "real" news. I was trying to make sense of the thoughts I was having.
I woke up one morning (literally) and realized for the first time ever that I had been fooled by the Democrats. I had been blinded by my stubbornness to look at the other side. Blinded by my pride to admit I could be wrong. Blinded by my past beliefs. I had refused to look at any other side except my own. How could I have believed everything I was being told by the Democratic Party? I had quit talking to family members (sorry Greg). I had argued with good friends. Realizing my previous beliefs were wrong was a really hard pill to swallow.
I still can't believe that it took me so long to see the light. I'm just thankful I did. I will be voting for Donald Trump...President Trump (IN PERSON). I thank God I saw the light and hope there are more people like me that open their eyes.

Good for her. There many people that refuse to admit a mistake. We all make them. I glad she finally took off the blinders. I keep hearing this more and more.

While I am a republican I will say the platform of Democrats has changed greatly since JFK was in office. The parties would half was work together, but now it doesn't happen. I don't agree with all the republican ways, but the Democrats has moved to a new level. Not a good one. Most people will vote their party no matter what. I will say any party that is ok with killing babies is against everything I was taught and believe in. If the Republicans was backing this kind of reform and the Democrats wasn't, guess what I would vote Democrat. But they are not the same as they use to be. It's a shame that why everyone in DC is so power hungry and no longer care what the people think. To be honest the whole system needs a reboot.

I've stated this before, I'm still a registered Democrat but, I've never voted a straight ticket in my life.
While I remain a registered Democrat, I'm not a happy camper with the direction they've taken.   I hope to help them change from within.  I can't support their platform or very many of their candidates.
I didn't leave the Democrat party, they left me.   They have lost their way.
