https://www.wsj.com/articles/second-presidential-debate-will-be-virtual-debate-commission-says-11602157139“ President Trump said he wouldn’t participate in the second debate with Democratic nominee Joe Biden after the Commission on Presidential Debates announced Thursday that the event would be held virtually.”
“I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate,” Mr. Trump said on Fox Business.
“The commission’s announcement that the two candidates would participate “from separate remote locations” was made after Mr. Trump and a growing number of White House staffers tested positive for coronavirus following the first presidential debate last week.“
“Here are the facts: President Trump will have posted multiple negative tests prior to the debate, so there is no need for this unilateral declaration,” said Bill Stepien, the Trump campaign manager. “The safety of all involved can easily be achieved without canceling a chance for voters to see both candidates go head-to-head. We’ll pass on this sad excuse to bail out Joe Biden and do a rally instead.”
