Full grown ones are often bullies and don't play well with others. (or eat their young)
But juveniles can be funny and entertaining.
When I think of birds as the present-day dinosaurs, they are easier to understand.
If we were one inch tall, none would show us any mercy (except maybe hummingbirds).

In that particular species, the female is the "leader of the pack" but, not generally all that aggressive. She leads, they follow. Much like a herd of Valkyries................  Rams |

Either I haven't been paying enough attention or Blue Jays are not as abundant as in my childhood years. Still plenty of Robins and Starlings are an ever present issue for me especially during the nesting season.

Yeah, first cousin to the oooh..aaah bird. The mileormore bird lays the square egg and when it finally lays it, it hurts so much you can hear it screech a mile or more. As for the ooohaah bird, it weighs only a 1/2 lb. but lays a 1 lb. egg. That makes it difficult so during the laying process it goes ooooh...and when it finally emerges the bird goes aaaaah! Kinda like being constipated I would think!  OK....enough of the intellectual discussions, we need something more mundane...like politics. |

Actually there John the mileamore I'm famaliar with does this. Early in the morning it searches out a suitable bank of dirt. Then it spends the better part of the day building a hemispherical cup in the dirt. Then just before sundown it perches on the edge of that cup turns aroubd and farts into that cup. And when he doe's fart you can hear it a mileamore.  RIDE SAFE. |
