Well hurricane Delta ruined National Motorcycle Riding Day for us in Northwest Florida so I decided to do some rain day tinkering. So I removed the tank to clean under there. It really wasn’t that dirty but another coat of wax on the frame is always a good thing. Then I decided, I should change the air filter. I have two K&N set ups so I don’t have to wait for it to dry after washing.  It’s been less than a year and maybe only 8,000 miles so the filter itself didn’t look dirty but the inside of the air box above the filter was pretty dirty. Everything cleaned waxed oiled and put back together ready for when this rain stops.

Ok so my national motorcycle riding day ride came a day late. Clouds are now building but this morning and all day so far was glorious for riding. I rode to church and then afterwards took two or three long ways home. There were many riders out from Harleys to Crotch rockets to mopeds. All seemed happy and returned the wave. I just rode out that tank of gas till I was sure reserve was eminent then filled up and headed home. 500 miles on the new tires and the seam between the two halves on the front tire is almost worn off. There is still a small flange of rubber still left from the mold. I love these tires!  The bike has never run better, must be because of 10 extra HP from changing the air cleaner. Lol.

Hope many of you had some wind this weekend as well

Ok time to wipe the old gal down. See ya!

Just lighting. Lol.  I’m not taking the tank off again to verify.

Chris,
I admire your attention to detail man! The zen of working on your own motorcycle.. even if it's just rubbing her clean, of course, I'm too lazy to wax under the tank haha

Got about 85 miles yesterday just cruising with my gal on the back, it was the most perfect weather yet this year for riding, and lots of bikes were out.

Thanks. Ya, I have been accused of being a bit nutz.  I’ve had this bike for almost 19 years and rolled the odometer over 72K miles ago. And I can’t seem to let it stay dirty. I ride it almost every day and have taken her places where she has got really dirty but the more wax is on first the easier the dirt comes off.

This is the first motorcycle I have had that draws attention everywhere we go. So many up close admirers I would be embarrassed if it was too dirty.

So. As long as I am able the Cobra bike will be a pampered machine for sure.
