Up late which gave the sun a chance to take the edge off the morning chill.

50F as I leave home.
5 miles down the road and I realize my heated gear isn't. Fuse must be blown and I'll check that during the week.
I'm still warm enough with my trusty 17 year old Honda winter jacket. I spray it with water repellent every fall. The powerless Gerbing gloves are keeping my hands warm and most of the route will be in sunshine but I do notice the temperature drop in shaded areas.
Lake Burton

Popcorn Overlook

Away from the main roads I have a nearly traffic free run whilst all the leaf peeping tourists dash ant like along straight lines eager to see the fall colors. I pass a couple of popular hiking trail access points and it makes me smile seeing the dozens of cars parked on grass verges so the occupants can go hiking away from others. Some parked with the body of their vehicle intruding onto the roadway.
Up and over Brasstown Bald and through Black Bear Curve where I was paced by a black bear VERY CLOSELY last year for a couple of seconds.
Approaching the western end of the Richard Russell Parkway (GA version of the Cherohala Skyway) a group of sports cars are pulling out in front of me. I brake hard and wave on the last 2 Corvettes so they can keep up with the group. Pffffttttt, not a hand wave in thanks.
They all turn in the direction i am going. Will the make a right turn onto Wolf Pen Gap or go straight up and over Blood Mountain?
Right.
Good I can make the run over the mountain. I let a couple of faster vehicles go by so iI can use them as radar chaff in case there's any revenuers lying in wait.
A good clear run and a sharp righ by Turners Corner leads me to the ridiculous new BIG roundabout circling the Stone Pile at the bottom of Hwy 60.
Here's come the car group and I give the 2 Corvettes a wave. No response. Pffffffffttttt.
A couple of grass verge parking lotsof peeper/hikers vehicles.
Two Wheels of Suches is slammed and a good turn out of bikes from the 70's, 80's and 90's.
https://twowheelsofsuches.com/I don't add the Valkyrie to the group. Those are show bikes. Mine is a riding bike and bears the scars.

House I like in the Trackrock area. 7 garages.
