Got a question for you Good Christian folks out there.     I have a friend age 84 or so that I have known in the BMW motorcycle world for about 40 yrs.   I have ridden with him many times a long time ago.   He is now in hospice with 3 days to 3 months life span left.    He lives about 100 miles from me now and I am going to try and go see him in the next couple days.   While there I want to say a prayer with him and I dont know what to pray for....Doctors to keep him comfortable while he is still with us.....a miracle cure....?????    What do you pray for in this situation?  I want to give him peace of mind.   What does a dieing person want to hear in a prayer?

not a christian but I would say that his life was a blessing for himself and for others

let him know he means something for you but if you are there he probably already knows

Pray for Comfort, Peace and Healing.

Healing may not come in this life, but it's still worth asking for.

If it doesn't, then being comfortable and at peace with the inevitable is a blessing.

A prayer is just that, a prayer. It can be anything in any form.

You basically wrote your own prayer in your closing sentences.

Something simple and easy to say.

Dear God,

With you’re infinite power and love please give the doctors the ability to keep my body comfortable. If it’s in your plan, help the medical community to find a cure for this terrible disease if not for me but for those to come. I pray Lord you take the anxiety and stress away and for peace of mind during this time. Please grant strength and comfort to my family to see this sickness to fruition. As your Son accepted his destiny I too accept mine and ask forgiveness of all my transgressions so I may walk with You and all who have passed in the greatness of Heaven.

I’ve heard of this prayer before;

Lord Jesus,

Come into my life.

I believe you died and rose from the grave.

I believe you live eternally in heaven.

Cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

Forgive me of all my sins.

Move into my heart.

I make you my Lord and Savior.

Thank you for your sacrifice.

I accept your gift of eternal salvation.

Amen.

Whatever you choose and how you choose it there is no right or wrong, you can’t mess this up if it’s truly in your heart, mind and spirit.

You’ll be fine no matter how you do it or how you say it, God knows the intention.

Is your friend a Christian. Even if he has said he was in the past. When one gets closer to that moment they will meet God, a confirmation that he is truly ready is always a good place to start.

Given your history with the gentleman, I'd pray over the journeys you've shared and the journey that is to come.
