I'm doing a mc rebuild just for curiosity.... I have the OEM parts, no big deal.
But the job needs a nasty long internal snap ring pliers, Im gonna have to buy some.
Amazon has like 6 or 8, including Motion Pro, usually good stuff but the notes say they a broke tip on it.
Other choices are there, but I want to get something that will still work a decade from now...
What do you have or what do you suggest. Jeez, the OEM Honda pliers are 90 bucks... Roll Eyes

I just have a cheapo set with interchangeable tips. Worked fine for me. Sometimes the tips just break, or round off. Can happen with any set.

Likewise, and I also have dedicated internal/external models in 0, 45 and 90 degree tip offsets.

All of the above have worked fine for motorcycle work and I've yet to break a tip. Just don't overload the tool.

On interchangeable tips , get a couple allen wrenches the correct size and make your own tips. It is easy enough to do.

I had an old set of small thin needle nose pliers. I just ground the tips down a little smaller and had no problem.

When I was an apprentice I started with the pliers with interchangeable tips and then over time replaced them with ones with solid tips that were convertible for internal/external clips.

The Motion Pro ones are most likely "packaged" for them, they look very similar to others available on Amazon.

Home Depot has some Knipex ones in a variety of lengths.  They may have something that could do the job depending on the bore depth, you could measure up what you need and check them out or just take the master with you and try them for fit.  They have a fairly hassle-free return policy and may be local to you.

If this is a one time job you could likely make something from a set of needle-nose pliers.  Every tool has its limits.  If the circlip won't break free from the groove sometimes you need to help it a bit with a screwdriver or awl and pry the ends loose.

I have Snap On small/6" 90 degree and straight solid tips that reverse for inside or outside 24yr. ago @ $30 for the pair. Used them a lot and still like new. Damn things are $30 ea. now but are fully warranted for life. Never had much use/luck for convertibles sets. Home Depot has Husky and Gear Wrench brands @ least half the cost but....
