This post is not meant to be political. And I hope it doesn't devolve in to that. (There are plenty of other posts for that) I would like to wish all my friends here peace in this last stressful week. I hope I can make it thru without losing any friends here, or there. I know I'm feeling it, and I'm sure most of you are too. There have been few upsides, if any, to this Corona crap. But, I think one for me has been a cementing of close family. I will cherish the board games with my granddaughter. I will cherish the camping trip with my grandson. Likely both events wouldn't have happened otherwise.
I guess what I'd like to say is, enjoy what you have. Change what you can. Have faith that God knows best. Life is too short to let politics divide us in our family and friends. May the force be with you !

Early on in this lockdown I started making calls to old friends; some I had not seen in 20-30 years, just to catch up.  One a day.  I found all of them, and they all returned my calls.  Of course after a few months I ran out of old friends, I may have to do another round once the weather moves in for the winter.  Probably would not have done this except for the lockdown.

The longest week of the longest year, but in retrospect, now it seems to have passed in the blink of an eye. Thanksgiving and Christmas and the other holidays that are celebrated are upon us and once again I won’t be ready. My mother who is 92 tells me to hang on the years just keep rolling faster and faster.

I appreciate the sentiment of your post very much. Life will go on no matter what.

One of your best posts !   cooldude

During the early part of this crap I posted how I was reaching out to people both friends and work

We call them GAS calls (GIVE A $HIT)

Asking how you can help without expecting a reward is actually rewarding as Karma does come back
when you least expect it.

Lucky that you can spend the time with grandkids.  Hope to get there eventually

covid has not really affected me in a negative way (knock on wood) and hope it does not to anyone either.  Working from home past 5 months is a blessing as well as the stimulus check.

as far as the election, cannot wait till it is over, got today another 2 cell phone texts on the election and a darn phone call from TRUMP something or another lady asked me if I was going to vote.   I said yes but it was none of her business whom I voted for.

Honestly my life hasn't changed much. This weekend my son is headed off to Atlanta to play baseball in a college show case tournament, he's played in a couple tournaments this fall. He's a senior and would like to go play ball for a college team. Who knows what will happen there? Daughter is in 10th grade, she played her volleyball season and tonight I had to pick her up from her not so legal batting practice for softball. She's been playing Varsity softball since 7th grade.  Teams are allowed to do conditioning but no field practice at this time of the year. They simply didn't use the high school field. My spring always is pretty much every night someone is playing ball and I assume it will be the same way this year? I hope so.

My life has been about going to ball games and school stuff for a while now. I have worked from home for the last 16 years, I'm a day trader for a living. Wife went back to work long ago. Only thing that has changed is the kids only go to the actual school 2 days a week the other 3 are zoom classes etc. They're getting an understanding of what my work day looks like.

Other than that, we have to wear annoying masks in public places but in private places no one is wearing masks.  My neighbors got Covid, no big deal at all. I live near Hilton Head Island and let me tell you they want to just completely shut down but the Governor has told the mayor on two occasions you can't do that. HHI's average age is 68 years old, they are retired. They don't have to work, they don't have children under 40 and really their day to day life is a much of nothing.  Makes sense that they just want to curl up into a ball and hide until this is over. They have already lost 30% of their restaurants. That will get worse.  They don't understand 2 million tourist a year fund their community and they are trying their best to destroy that. I live in what they would call the swamp so I can just hunt up dinner, no need for a job. LOL. Funny part is I could. My citrus is almost ripe so I don't have to worry about scurvy.

The most annoying thing is the political crap going on. Let me tell you the SC senate seat is a big push for the democrats. They are spending huge amounts of money on ads for Jamie Harrison. I am sick of hearing the ads about him and Graham. We also have a major thing going on for a house seat, again I just don't want to hear another ad from either person.  I got 10 pieces of political mail today. That has been going on for a week now, every day.

All I know is this. My daughter is going up to Myrtle Beach to play in a softball tournament and we are actually talking about what to do if riots happen.  We'll stay in the swamp, thank you. This is the weekend after the elections.

Always fear the very rich and the very poor. In this case the people who by government mandate are broke and angry. This election very well may set them off. Doesn't matter what side of the fence you are on, the big cities are going into collapse mode. Fear the poor they are just looking for a reason to go violent. History proves this but no one seems to ever look at history. That's why I make money in the stock market BTW. I trade on what has happened before, their are patterns and cycles. You won't beat those.

Hey Rob,
I thought about you when I went to the live vote place here in Ohio yesterday afternoon.  Pretty sure we are not going to vote the same way but am also pretty glad that we get the chance to vote at all.  My twin Granddaughters are voting for the first time this year, that's fun to watch also.
Their lives have been flipped by this whole crud thing.  They both got pretty good scholarships to Miami U, but have decided to put off college for a year.  I guess it doesn't make much sense to move into a dorm and take classes on line.  Last I heard about 25% of our incoming freshman class made the same decision.  Harvard and Stanford had about the same number.
Elections come and go, but someday life will get back to normal, THAT will be something to celebrate.

Week is going pretty fast, but wish it would go faster.

Did have some diversion this week, got a letter from Fed IRS saying they wanted more info on my Mom's 2019 taxes. I helped her and have all her mail sent here (she is in an assisted living place).   But the letter didn't say what they wanted.  So after 40 minutes of waiting to talk to IRS agent yesterday, finally got to talk to one.  After explaining my side of issue and getting my Mom on the three way, He determined that indeed the letter sent didn't show what was wanted.  He couldn't tell me what was wanted.   So he suggested I right a letter back to the IRS saying either process her tax return or send a letter actually asking what is needed.   He said that it probably happens in once every couple of thousands letters that get screwed up like this.   I had sent in her return in February.   2funny

BUT the sky is clear, temps a bit low for riding  yet though will warm up enough to a have a ride this afternoon.  All is good in the world.
