Monday to Thursday I always pick up a co-worker and her dog, which means I can't ride the bike to work.
Which means, Friday is my "bike to work" day.

The weather was nice yesterday and I took the longer route to work instead of just riding the highway. I arrived at work mid morning, got everything finished that needed to be done, and then this happened...

I put on my gear, rolled the bike out of the garage, put some nice tunes on and off we went. I decided to ride the S2S to Squamish and stopped for lunch at The Watershed Grill.
https://www.thewatershedgrill.com

One of my favourite spots when the weather is good. A nice patio directly on the Squamish river with friendly service and decent food.

After my short stop for lunch I jumped on the bike and followed the Squamish Valley Road. Within a couple of minutes you're out of town and all by yourself.

The Squamish Valley had quite a big wildfire earlier this year and the whole area got evacuated. Riding through there and seeing the burnt trees brought back all the stories and images from the news...

The road then turns into a dirt road. The bike was dirty already anyway and I felt a bit adventurous and kept going. The first section was just pothole after pothole, which then turned into a mix of mud and gravel.

Always a good reminder to keep the eyes and ears open in an area like this...

A bit off road riding along the river, with waterfalls coming down on the rock cliffs next to the road, and snow capped mountains visible in the distance... what a great start to the weekend!

Another ride tomorrow and then Valerie will get a bath and some ethanol free fuel in the system. As long as it is just cold I will still ride the bike regularly, but who knows what's gonna happen. It's still 2020... Cheesy

Nice posts, thanks for the pictures. I haven't been up that way off road since I was a young adult.

That old road used to be Hwy 99, till they laid the double lane through Highlands.

It's nice to know about this place. I've needed to look for somewhere to eat when Creekside dinner in Whistler is full or wait too long, when I'm working up there. I get a meal allowance when outside of town, and don't want a fast food joint.

Apparently wild fires can’t ruin the looks of Canada, a real water wonderland. I love those rivers.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

Hard to choose a favorite, the one on the bridge, facing forward looks similar to an F6C 1800...at a quick glance the bags look like the "cat catcher" radiator pods.
