Grumpy told me once that he owns on old 1930s car I thought I remember a Chrysler Imperial. He explained to us the strange start stop feature the car had that was unique to the car. He told me it was in a garage in Dade city. Does anyone else remember this?

Ok one more sent me a pm and said it was a Nash and it hit me that it was indeed. I Believe it was a Ambassador and it had an Eight and its starter, which was brought into action when the clutch pedal was depressed, which, said the car's makers, removed the danger of 'in-gear' starts.

Is this a car that he had recently ( in the last 15 years ) or something he had in the past?

I believe the last time we talked about it was maybe two years ago and I mentioned a couple of times to bring it to a party. I’m glad that many members remember this.

Wow! And LOL, there are better memories out there than mine. I totally forgot it was even in a post. Nash President. I sure wish he had shown us this car. Good catch Jack!

Well if Grumpy told us about it and Ann is trying to get sorted and move, knowing she has no knowledge about this car, yes. I wanted to make sure others knew about this so I was not going batty as well.

There's people over on Bring A Trailer talking about "endearing traits" of their old cars:
My 1947 Nash 600 that engaged the starter by depressing the clutch pedal to the floor or my 1947 Packard Super Clipper that engaged the starter by depressing the gas pedal. Either car generally started easily.
