It will be the best part of my day

Anyone else riding the motorcycle to work today?

I know some do not like to ride to work but why the hell not?

Its only 23 miles but apart from the first 2 there are no trucks on these roads and should be able to cruise at my leisure

Will leave by 4pm as do not like riding at night

About the only downside to working form home, I miss those daily 30 mile each way rides, especially since most of it was on toll roads, affectionately referred to as the "North Dallas Autobahn."

I don't miss the ~$10 a day in tolls though!

Washed, waxed, and filled the tank with gas and stabil.  The Challenger is going into hypernation.

Hopefully next weekend will be nice as well so I can start up the bikes and fill their tanks with gas and stabil as well.

Lots of debris on the road, be careful.

It's sixty-four degrees this morning in east Kansas.  Unfortunately I'm retired so I can't ride to work today.  Decisions, decisions.  What to do?  What to do?   Smiley

$10/day!? holy crap.

Enjoy the riding boys. Just spent an hour shovelling out the driveway/street.

It was pouring last night because of the tropical storm but its beautiful out now. Also since I live near work I take my bike to work quite often. As long as its not actively raining I prefer to take the bike.

Since I bought the convertible I must admit I have been out less on the bike. But each time its a treat even to work, I have such an greater appreciation for dogs that I never had before I had my Valk. They LOVE the wind and smells and I can truly agree. cooldude

The convertible, while great, is still not the Valk when it comes to view and catching air.

Oss do it while you can, soon its going to be to cold.

The wife and I have talked about moving a bit north to get the change of seasons. I would never have thought I would say this but its nice to wake up and its cool outside. Not to far north but maybe to the Panhandle would be nice. I can always go south or go further north and maybe meet up with some of the rides like Joes unofficial ride through the mountains.

My pastor just came back from the Dragon and he loved the ride.  cooldude

In Indianapolis today, low is 56°, high is 78°. Rode to work today and all last week (and likely tomorrow). On Wednesday, the prediction is to lower both the high and low by 20°.

It was in the low 20's when rolled out this morning,  Maybe this afternoon it will warm up enough for short ride.  Think most of the roads around here are clear of the snow we had yesterday morning.

I also am retired, so don't need to fight temps nor traffic first thing in the morning.

Living in San Diego has some perks among the not so good things about being in SoCal.
Weather is pretty good here year round and I take the Valk every chance I get. Doing construction type work I can stash tools and materials on the job and ride to work sometimes.
It does get a lot colder here than people think..

I am retired as well, so, no riding to work, but I can ride whenever I like (within reason).

Will probably go for a short ride this afternoon.  Weather is good.

Did ride some back roads around here yesterday.  And found that Lexington County, SC has a road named "Devils Backbone Rd".

When I was working, I rode everyday I could. I avoided riding to work in the rain in the morning.  My trip was about 25 miles and all backroads.  My route in was fixed but my route home could be varied and not add many miles.

I have no paying job.

I worked my ass off in the yard with leaves today.

I could have ridden the bike to my front yard, but walking out there doesn't take that long.

I have been getting some rides in, in these last warm days.

Topped off with Non-corn 91 in case it was the last ride this year.  If it isn't, I'm ready for the next ride  2funny

80% of my mileage on cycles per year is (or was before covid) back/forth to work.   Is the ONLY good thing about going to work is the time riding cycles before/after work.   Since past 5 months at home and soon being forced to go back into work in 2 weeks since coworker quit yesterday gave 2 weeks notice,  shitty time to quit for me since have to be in office to file/print reports daily since only one that can do it now.   I doubt I will be riding cycle much the last week in November when I will have to drive into work again until someone else is hired and trained in next month or more?   One of the few positive, VERY positive, things on Covid is work from home benefits no 1.5 hours drive time, no gas expense, no wear/tear on vehicles, etc.   I'll be only 1 of about 4-5 in the entire building since am 'essential' I guess ?   tickedoff  Boss told me yesterday once someone in trained good enough to work in the office, I can go back to working from home again guessing sometime in late December if they find someone stupid enough to take that job which is like my job just different accounts.   Cry     Am sure they will find someone making a buck or so MORE than me and ME training them for what they started me out 2 years ago highly doubt will happen 99.9% of potential employees will laugh and say, heck NO!  Angry  Trust me, have gone to boss and she keeps saying hands are tied she knows I deserve more doing great work, but with Covid and budget cuts and her higher ups above her in HR and mgmt, she claims she cannot do a darn thing.  Now would be a good time to give 2 weeks notice and call her bluff for I can get a temp job for as much or more than what making now in a few weeks time. Roll Eyes  My former employer is looking for my old job back have 2 openings, but not sure I want to go back with overtime of 55-60 hour weeks hard manual labor on feet all day walking, etc. but the 15K more in pay per year with overtime is almost 1/2 of what I make now in salary.   Roll Eyes  Hard to pass up a job making 15K more but there are things at that employer that was not right either just in a different bad way.  The 1 year I was there 2 people in my dept. quit and after I left,  4 more left that dept. and was only a 7 person team to begin with.  NOw, there is only 3 left from 2 years ago loosing 2 very very good workers that I enjoyed working with that did a good job.
