History repeats itself if your not taught it or take the time to learn it. It stopped being taught in the 70s. I believe this was the reason.

Yep. Joe McCarthy was a drunk and an asshole, but his basic premise that communists in the US (Govt and elsewhere) suck, was right on the money.
Who'd have thought they'd all end up in the Democratic party though?
