Do you put the price on cases or deaths?

It's hard to put a price on a life in our society. That does seem to be a little on the expensive side at $6 million each.

Sounds like we're headed that way again. We'll soon have a destroyed economy and be bankrupt. Is that the "plan"?

My math has it at over 600 million per death.  Did I do something wrong?

(And that assumes the 169 billion is really related to the 250,000 deaths.  I don't think so.)

This is just one example of the contortionism of data and information malfeasance related to this virus.

In regard to the article. We pull two figures out of the air. 169 billion and 29000 "lives saved". Not lost, even though the lives lost figure is dubious, but lives saved.

How can you possibly know how many lives have been saved relative to the 169 billion spent?

You can't. You can't even say with any certainty that the 169 billion was spent on Covid issues.

This has spun out of control.

But even if we were to take this information as reality it doesn't make any sense to claim that we are spending 6 million per life saved. The 169 billion (again assuming this is reflective of reality and it is not) was spent to save more than 29000.

(When divided by lives lost the figure is 600k/life)

This is such a travesty and waste of energy.

Math is not hard (well, daily use stuff anyway).

What is hard is truth (in politicians, bureaucrats, and government).

The invention I want to see is truth shock collars.  When truth is not spoken, suddenly you can tell right away.

Ask dogs, they know all about it.  Even though they rarely lie.

You know I did not know, until recently, that a member of congress can not be prosecuted for liable for telling a lie that harms someone.

I mean, its ludicrous that they, remember of congress, get a free pass to say anything they want and the truth be darned.

It's not in the constitution but it was discussed at length by the founders.

It was proposed as law by a Democrat, and has been widely expanded since that time (congress and courts).

Everyone knows they get immunity because they are special people.

And they have bigger mouths than ordinary people and need extra protection for using them all the time.    Grin
