I removed the markymark640 thread; the entire thread was basically personal attacks and disrespectful communication. I waited until the OP responded, giving him a chance to see Willow's response. FYI I did the search of "Sleepy Joe." Saying that were all disrespectful is not accurate, several were posted by some of our left leaning friends (typically complaining about Trump calling him that). There were some disrespectful "Sleepy Joe" posts. These were not intentionally left on the board. We can't guarantee we will see every disrespectful post. If you see something that appears offensive or disrespectful, by all means PM one of the moderators (with a link) and it will be reviewed. If we agree, we will take appropriate action; if we don't agree, we don't. I will update the Rules of the Road to reflect that; it used to be on the ROTR, I'm not sure what happened to it.
Perhaps I can clear up some confusion regarding Rules of the Road. When the ROTR references disrespectful communication, it includes name-calling of members and/or figures that they support. This doesn't mean you can't disagree or state your opinions respectfully. For instance, you can say "Trump told another lie," or "Biden will go after guns," but you can't say "Trump is a bloated orange turd," or "Biden is a doddering imbecile." We specifically do not allow disrespect of ANY current POTUS, such as, #notmypresident (because whether you like it or not, he is your president). Again, that doesn't mean you can't opine or disagree, but do so without the disrespect.
As far as posting personal message conversations, it's considered poor form on BBSs and social media. It is not forbidden in the ROTR, because that had never been a problem. If a conversation occurs in a PM or email, it is inconsiderate to post it publicly. If you are threatened or harassed in a PM or email (that you did not initiate), please report it to a moderator by PM.
We are all adults, we know if we're being disrespectful and it's almost always intentional. If you're doing it, just stop before post.
