Just in case you are interested in seeing some "northern lights" here is the Aurora Prediction for tommorw night. Seems the sun is "lighting up" the night sky. I cannot attest to the accuracy of the website but it seems to confirm what I have seen from others on various platforms. https://www.gi.alaska.edu/monitors/aurora-forecastThis is what it looked like in South Carolina some years ago. The first time I had seen it that far south.

They were talking about it up here in the Green Bay area also, was on the evening weathercast. I remember when stationed in northern Maine back in the early 60's, those lights would actually crackle as they whipped across the sky.

This is what it looked like in South Carolina some years ago. The first time I had seen it that far south In the late 80's it was as far south as Orlando. My then wife and 2 kids were not impressed.

You are correct, compared to what I say when living in Hope, MI in the late 70's the view in SC was no where near as cool. But, still, it was unusual to see and I got a photo. I also got a photo of a UFO was I was doing some backyard astrophotography

Interesting. I've never seen the northern lights in Colorado even during predicted solar activity. Have seen them many times in WI.
If you have a ZUMO 550 don't turn it on during solar storms. I had three of them burned out by solar magnetic activity and replaced by Garmin. Now they are out of production. Later models, specifically for me the ZUMO 665, they fixed the sensitivity to solar wind.

I still have my Zumo 550 and I will keep that in mind. I don't use it on the bike any longer but its still in use in my 1996 Ford Explorer.

Actually that is one of the reasons I kept the 550 active because it was my first XM Radio device and still is. All the rest of my devices, that have XM, are linked through it.

I believe the "space agency" got it wrong. I cannot find a link on-line but I have seen several news tickers stating it did not happen as expected. On the other hand, the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter is still on for December 20, 2020.
