Route starts due north from Clayton, GA

https://www.relive.cc/view/v4OGjGdjQmv

Squeals of delight from the children snow tubing.

Dirty looks from mask wearers as I walk into the Chinese buffet wearing my crash helmet with face shield closed. I

Don't they read the packaging for the crappy blue/white mask they are wearing.

Most of them quite clearly state  the mask WILL NOT stop a virus.

I got a mask from the counter staff and wore it to the help yourself food and was happy to remove it in the safe air space bubble surrounding the table I sat it.

Lots of damp road patches all day in the shade.

My on bike temp gauge read 40F as elevation increased and there was ice on the rocks in the shade and I was on full ice alert. The ground temperature must have been below freezing.

Rounding a bend that must have been shaded all day I see 2 BMW bikes in the right hand ditch on Hwy 215 southbound just below the BRP  on the north side of the mountain.

A dual sport heeled over in a wider part of the ditch with a tourer being very cozy right up its rear wheel.

A couple of helmets and a trunk are on the grass and then I see a rider sitting on the crash barrier to my left.

I stop and ask if he's OK.  Nodding his head he point back a few yards behind me and says "ICE".

I offer my condolences and help. I'm told his companion has gone for help.

Riding on I ponder how the bikes got in the ditch and came to a conclusion that the dreaded target fixation may have overcome them and lemming like bike 2 followed the leader into the ditch.

My ride home was hassle free apart from the setting sun lasering into my eyes for the last 30 minutes.

Yes.

It wasn't freezing where I went, but I came upon quite a few
places like that, and thought about how they'd be ice on
a colder day...

I think that's my last BRP area ride for the winter. I can take a hint from lady luck.

Naturally the roads were extremely slick yesterday

The E3 are not my favorite for wet roads and they were not my favorite riding in Harriman yesterday either
