I started thinking about riding the Dempster Highway all the way up to the Arctic Ocean a couple of months ago. Then I started talking about this trip to my buddy Mike. The more we talked about it, I realized it would be a stupid idea to make that trip on the Valkyrie. Four more years and I can get Collector plates for the bike. Not worth ruining the bike on this one trip.

Mike already bought a used Suzuki V-Strom this summer and last Monday we went to pick up a parts bike for him from Penticton. Turns out the bike is in great shape and Mike wants me to have his second V-Strom for this trip in June 2021. So last Saturday we put plates on the bike, he's the owner and I am the principal rider. I still can't believe that this all happened. And I guess I can call myself very lucky to have a friend who just does things like that. Dempster Highway, here we come....

I see many offroad adventures coming for the 2021 season...

And there's still room for another bike....  Grin

Very nice. Keep us informed on your prep and ride next year. Would be nice to have a post for the future if I ever get around to ride up that way too.

My two rides are my 1998 Valkyrie and my 2002 V-Strom. No tiny car in my garage though.  Grin

Congrats Christian... wise choice, looking ahead to that ride. Tell your buddy Mike that I still have room for one more, if he wants to get one for me too... I'll take an Adventure Tour, please  Wink.

I was worried that after 19 years, my dear old Valk might get jealous this Summer, when the pretty Blue Wing found a home in my garage. I think they're getting along fairly well though... I've managed to give each enough attention, whether it be riding or polishing/tinkering  cooldude

I'm really looking forward to your photo diary of the trip Christian!  that kind of ride is on my bucket list.

I too could use a ADV bike benefactor!  haha.
