To blow away the Christmas cobwebs four of us went for a ride to the beach today to sit in the sun and have a coffee and to watch one brave soul swimming. Sorry no Valk's in the picture but mine is still in pieces hopefully the Goldwing in the back makes up for it.

The beach

Sorry to make those of you with snow feel bad.  Wink

Colin...when you are out riding, what kind of bikes do you see on the road?  Here in the states, it is predominately Harley-Davidson.

Dave

As far as cruisers are concerned it is Black HD's if they aren't black the prices are usually about 10-15% cheaper s/h. The largest numbers of bikes are the 50cc scooters as they don't require a licence until this year they didn't need an annual mechanical check and you only need to be 16 to ride one. The head down a$$ up machines are a mixture of makes and models. Of the big bikes about 60% are cruisers and the rest are pocket rockets, trials types are not that popular in this area. There is a Sunday motorcycle meet somewhere in the area most weekends of the year and participants follow the breakdown above.

The photo was taken in Gandia, which is on the Costa blanca about 50km south of Valencia. If you look at a map of Spain it is the lump that sticks out towards Ibiza on the right hand side half way down. It was a lovely 21C about 72F IIRC. Today we had 26C with a hot strong southerly wind. We are hoping to get out again for the last ride of the year on Thursday 31st when it is due to be 18.
