Did my house, the neighbor and then drove to Mohegan Lake (as in last of...) to get Stacy's house Fortunately found a neighbor with a big truck and blade and he got her huge driveway done Here is the red bike in front of my house just now (yes I took the cover off for the pic) Between 12 and 18 inches depending on the drifts. Thank you to town plow driver for the 2' in front of the driveway Just finished shoveling the path to the hot tub, I will need it tonight as I am so sore I can barely walk lol

@Oss: beautiful bike, really nice color. Is it a custom paint job?
I heard that snow is pretty gnarly in the East coast.
Another question: does a regular Valkyrie starts fine in the cold morning if covered by snow? I never had to start my I/S under such conditions (coldest start ever was 31F but bone dry in the garage).

That was Stan's 99 Interstate He painted it candy apply red with the carbon fiber graphics after he laid it down on 95 a few years back He sold it when his knees was too bad to ride and I think he got a wing trike
I have started my 01 IS in 18 degrees and ridden just push the choke all the way Valks run BETTER in the cold. But under 32 the tires really need to warm up before they grab the road,
Do not need 2 interstates and will entertain selling it in the spring. Maybe get a 2014 f6B or used wing (08 or newer) PM me if interested as I do not want to use the general board for that and break the rules of the road

We dodged it here on the shore. The plow guys are great at building those driveway walls aren’t they.

Curious, why 08 or newer?

Oss, feel your pain. We thankfully dodge the bullet in the last storm, rained instead of dreaded white. Got couple feet in the Cascades where it belongs.
While in Susanville CA we had 5' of white in two days. Not normal storm for that area and pretty much shut the town down. Snow plows put a 3' drift in front of all our driveways. It was kind of cool, 5 neighbors and I, all got together at the same time to clear out these drifts. Goes a lot faster with help. Had to remove some of the white for roofs, hate heights.

Oss,, having plowed snow for a couple of years I got a question? How is the plow driver to plow the street without getting it in anyone's driveway?

We don't get much snow.
But when we do, I work the blower and the shovel and create two giant piles on each side of my driveway in the street that even our big plows don't want to mess with so they swerve around them and I don't get a big ice dam at the end of my driveway.

By me giving him $20 when he came down the road and I ran out to meet him. But then woke up to the driveway plowed in anyway. Guess he didn't split the tip with the other driver(s).

I'm at the end of the cul-de-sac with my driveway at 11:00 and my neighbor's driveway at 1:00. They just push the snow straight on through and block us both in.

Having plowed snow before I can tell you its a thankless job. You get griped at if you do not get the streets done quickly, you get griped at for blocking driveways and you generally are the enemy. If you stop and do everyone's driveway then you would be days getting the streets done and that pisses people off. Its a no win.

Jess, when people do that on my plow route, I look at it as a challenge to deposit it back in their driveway. And I always end up winning because I’m getting OT to do it Craig

And I always end up winning because I’m getting OT to do it Craig Fortunately, you're not my plow guy Craig. (finger emoticon missing) While my county has big heavy plows all over on main roads, my neighborhood is rarely ever visited by them. We are almost always plowed out by small contract guys with 4X pickup trucks (large and regular). So if I get a big enough pile of ice, they do not attack it. I've been defeated by big rigs a couple times, but only when the snow was so deep we needed them (which is rare). Speaking of overtime though, I have sat in my window at 2am many times and watched one of our small truck guys spend long hours (after the roads are already opened up fine) just wandering around the neighborhood tidying up here and there, putting in hours.

Oss,, having plowed snow for a couple of years I got a question? How is the plow driver to plow the street without getting it in anyone's driveway?
I know I live in a pretty small town unlike most of you a little over 1 mile wide total town of 1200 people, but we had the best neighbor who worked for the village do an EXCELLENT job plowing snow before he retired a few years ago in upper 60s for sure. It REALLY HELPS to have last swipe near the curb to have the snowplow truck drive wrong way up streets on wrong side of street and when he comes to the driveways angle the plow blade OUTWARD until AFTER he gets past the 20 foot driveway or so and then angle plow all the way INWARD so most of the big snowpiles in front of each driveway gets moved away so ONLY say 6 inches of snow is piled up in driveways vs. 2 feet. IT WORKS! IN NON BIG towns like ours with not much traffic at all after snowfalls, you can drive going wrong way on streets and not worry about oncoming traffic. NIce pic OSS, I'd love to take that red I/S off your hands to make 3 Valkyries total but afraid I would not be living in the same house as the wife. How many miles are on it? asking price? message me if o.k. - thanks. I will work on the wife this winter if the price is right.. LOL We got our 1st snowfall last weekend and was only 6 inches but 1/2 inch of rain prior to snow coming down and WET HEAVY stuff got old blue out and it struggled to throw the snow very far as well but a welcome sight to use it vs. shoveling. It was made in 1974 by HOMELITE on 2nd engine a 5 hp B&S and is tall and skinnier (less wide) than the newer ones with HUGE WIDE metal chute not like the ones made by plastic now so snow does not clog up as much although it did on that 6 inches of wet heavy stuff a few times just spitting the snow out barely. It has only 1 forward, 1 neutral, 1 reverse gear is all but that is all you really need anyways. It was my mother in laws age 78 and she can no longer handle it no electric start (not able to convert to it either) and the pull rope is SUPER long to get it to start, but runs pretty good considering the frame/etc. is OEM from 1974 still. I took the tire chains off though do not like them nor need them since I can muscle it around except at end of driveway if over 1 foot of snow it spins rear tires then tire chains would help BITE into the snow moving it forward vs. me forcing it forward some.
