No, the trip was a no-go.  My son and his wife just moved into a new home recently, and he told me things are still discombobulated there, and asked me to reschedule my trip.  Judging by the weather this week, I'm glad I didn't go.

Too bad you didn't get to make the trip, but it's good you missed the weather.

My son is now going to be stationed at Ft Sill in Lawton, OK for six months starting sometime in January, so he'll be nearby for awhile.  Last time he was at Ft Sill, he came down practically every weekend.  It's nice having him close.

So your son's Army.  Artillery school?  I'm an Okie by birth, just took 22 years to get to Texas !    Roll Eyes  My son is Marine, though he discharged 13 months ago.   Disabled 80%, PTSD,hearing loss and back problems.  IED  probably, but he's not talking... Lips Sealed ..   Glad your boy's going to be close to you, it makes a big difference in both your lives.  Wish him my best, and tell him thanks.

Sorry for your son's injuries.  That's got to be tough for you to deal with.  And none of them talk much about what happens over there.

Mine is Marine too. Artillery Officer: Captain.  He trained at Fort Sill a year before he deployed to Iraq.  Got back last August and is returning to Lawton for Career Officer Artillery School.  It's a little late for him, but artillery is his second MOS.  He started out in flight school as a helicopter pilot.

It took me over 50 years to get to Texas, but I feel like I should have been born here!
