My son is Marine, though he discharged 13 months ago. Disabled 80%, PTSD,hearing loss and back problems. IED probably, but he's not talking...

Sorry for your son's injuries. That's got to be tough for you to deal with. And none of them talk much about what happens over there.
Mine is Marine too. Artillery Officer: Captain. He trained at Fort Sill a year before he deployed to Iraq. Got back last August and is returning to Lawton for Career Officer Artillery School. It's a little late for him, but artillery is his second MOS. He started out in flight school as a helicopter pilot.
It took me over 50 years to get to Texas, but I feel like I should have been born here!
