Border crossing ?

Hey guys, I'm curious of your opinions on the border opening up. We have been planning to take our motorhome, truck, and motorcycle to our property in Alaska. I'm starting to get worried that things are still going to be closed. There MIGHT be a possibility that my wife and I could get the vaccine by May, but I doubt my grandkids who are also coming with us would have it. If that even is a consideration for crossing ? Does there seem to be any concensus about when things might open ? Thanks

I believe this is the current restriction order. Allows US citizens to travel through specific border crossings into BC and Alberta, if en route to Alaska...but with a lot of restrictions. Basically must drive straight through with limited stopping for fuel, overnight, eating, etc. No tourist stops, no provincial or national park visits, etc. You should check first though if there's a further update when you do leave.

When you drive through Fort St John BC on the Alaska Hwy on your way up and if you see a good lookin' gal with long brown hair with her good lookin' Canadian Vet husband and their gorgeous little 15 month old daughter in a new White Chevy PU, please wave and say hi for me.... haven't seen our granddaughter and her parents in person since June

There was also tracking. You need to actually actually cross the 2 borders. If you cross back over the one you first crossed, there was something like a minimum $10K fine/person, and there where reports of fines being applied.

This is supported by both the Canadian/US governments, so it's not like ignoring the Canadian fine and never coming back. The US will track you down.
