Just talked to Jeff Christopher, or chrisJ as some would know him. He and a friend were on the way to the Stagecoach 500 in Stockton, AL. His buddy was following. Jeff realized he was about to miss his turn but couldn't make it so he motioned for his buddy to turn as he was slowing down to turn around. Well, his buddy got discombobulated and slid into Jeff taking them down. Queen Dinki, Judy, was with him. According to Jeff, his buddy hurt his leg and hip and is in the hospital for evaluation. Not sure if anything is broke. Jeff checked out okay, and Judy scraped her hand pretty bad. He's a retired Air Force Medic so I think she's in good hands. He is awaiting another friend with a trailer to haul the bikes back then will be headed to the hospital to check on his bud. They had on full gear and he a full face which was trashed. I'm sure he'll post more later.

« Reply #13 on: December 30, 2009, 01:27:12 PM »

actually, i had THOUGHT about going on that ride....but as it turns out...it's been raining here most of the day (and cool)....so it was a no go. this has been a weird Winter for the south. One of the rainiest Decembers in history...and very cool to cold.

i also had thought about MAYBE taking a day off and going up to Culman monday to see those that made it.....but again, the weather was WAYYYY too cold to consider doing it....so i passed.

So far, at least in Bama.....the weather MIGHT be a bit better than up north...but NOT like "normal" years.....thus....my Valk has sat in the garage THE ENTIRE MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it also doesn't help i had a bad lifting accident...and tore a tendon in my right wrist. it's SLOWLY getting better........but i digress.

I'm sorry CHris and his friend went down...but given the weather, NOT sorry i stayed "home at work" on this one (and the Culman one Monday).

get well Jeff....and bring us some better riding weather! cooldude

I was going to go on this ride too.  Was supposed to meet up in Crestview for the ride.  Got up this morning and checked the weather and it looked like it was going to be wet by the return trip so I wimped out and stayed in town.

Now that just blows, Jeff you are going to be polishing on that thing for months trying to get it back to the shape it was in. As far as you and the wife and your friend, you will heal by the sounds of it. Bike on the other hand needs some work. At least you are the man for the job. Get well and ride soon. HOZ

I had to tear the switch box off and find the two wires tht needed to be twisted together to simulate a kill switch in the "on" position and then replace a 10A fuse for the ifnition that had blown, and nw she starts, runs like a top........I have to take her down the the Honda Dealer for an official Honda repair estimate.  The Insurance company will pay me based  on the Honda Dealership prices for parts and labor..........that sounds reeeely good to me....then they dont care if I fix it myself.  Ill report how that goes on Sat or Tue..........

Healing is going slowly.  One week today and Judy still cant do anyting with that hand, shes at her wits end at moments.  Im hobbling but the swelling seems to be going down now.

The first bike parts arrived today.  Wouldnt you know it the Queens throne got fixed first.  New Ultimate backrest and arm rest for her royalty.  I hope the Cobra lights come in next.......
