Memories of Polar Ride Past
: a few years ago, we went with Captain Ron"Speedo" to Marietta, OK. A few Goldwing riders went with us. I Froze my buns off and Lost my phone. ( hot pink with a hot pink case. ) the riders behind us saw something fall off the bike but didn't tell me till we got to the OK welcome Center. we ate Pizza at Pizza hut in Marietta, then spent several hours riding the shoulder of the highway looking for my phone(not my idea) Actually, someone did find my phone and used it for several hours to get on the web.

Moral of the story: make sure your cell phone is secure, and riders, if you notice "something "falling off someones bike, stop the pack and let them know! (esp if it's pink!)

You missed a good 'un.  About 170 miles for me, more for the Dallas folk.  And TJ had the stones (due to the cold, fully retracted by now, I'm sure) to come up from Dublin.  He'll get 500 in today.  Seven bikes in all.  Six Valks, one Kaw.  (Four of the six Valks were Dark Side, putting the Hondas at a 66.6% risk of opening a portal to Hell and certain disaster.  Amazingly, not one of them spontaneously combusted during any of the many curves!)

Seven men, seven bikes, 32 degrees, 215* mile round trip ... to eat lunch. What were we thinking?  uglystupid2

*Others riders mileage may vary.

First stop in Saint Jo (I think)

Second stop at the bridge

First ride for my new fork deflectors

Very cold and very fun ride.

Grin Valkpilot your right, it toke awhile for the stones to warm up. My feet where the worst. I didn't quite make 500 miles, 416 miles to eat and back. Again thanks Speedo for the great ride, I was however surprised you didn't jump in the Red River for your annual New Years swim Grin. (Too shallow??)
It was a fun ride y'all and we may have even directed a valk owner to this board.~TJ

Hey John,
We saw a lot more of the white stuff then we expected.
One stretch of road had drifts all the way to the fence line (a good ten feet).
A surprising temperature drop riding next to the stuff.
Sorry you couldn't make out to freeze with us.
Maybe next time,
Happy New Year!
