I fiddled with my web server some today... I got a certificate
from "let's encrypt" https://letsencrypt.org/ so all my URLs
are https  cooldude

I've uploaded a few directories of pictures from various rides,
and tried sprinkling a little html into them... I don't intend to
have any java or php, just html...

Woot! Thanks for that tip! I've been running a self-signed SSL cert on www.serk.net for a decade or more, the error messages whining about that were getting annoying.... it took a little tinkering (My current installation is Debian Buster that's been upgraded since Etch, there's a lotta kludges and kruft in there.) but I got it running with a real cert from Let's Encrypt now.....
