You might not know that Dale Walksler of Wheel thru Time Fame passed away yesterday at his home. He had battled canser for four years.

I read about it on the news. I only heard of the place because of a show on American Pickers. He seemed like a real good dude. I don't know if the museum will keep going. I hope so, I'd like to see it one day.

RIP Dale

His son is taking over and Dale had it set up where that Wheels thru Time would continue after he’s gone.

I visited the museum while attending a RoadRunner rally in Maggie Valley. It was pretty cool although I'm not much into historical bikes. Dale did ride a Crocker to our evening dinner though and that was a neat bike. He gave a short speech and invited us to come on over to the museum. He had a show on Velocity Channel called "Barn Finds" I think. It showed how he and his Son would go around the country following up on leads on old bikes and how they acquired them. He could get almost any motorcycle started no matter how old. He said, "the motor doesn't know how long it's been sitting. All  it needs is fuel, air, & spark."

What a shame, I didn't know this. Damn cancer.

We've stopped there several times on the way back north. Great place and something new every time. I have a real thing for old bikes.

Just think, our Valks will be antiques in a couple more years.

I believe his show was called "What's in the Barn" and it ran for 2 seasons.

A lot of motorcycle history passed when he did.

I can't remember if it was a episode of the show or not, but he did a thing where he started 100 antique motorcycles in 2(?) hours or something like that.

You are correct. It was "What's in the Barn?" Thanks for jogging my memory, I knew a Barn was involved.  cooldude

Just found out about this today and maybe someone else had posted but Dale Walksler of the Wheels through Time motorcycle museum passed away from cancer on Feb 3rd....

Was there about 4 years ago and he was at the front of the shop starting up an old Henderson....

Chatted with him with a few others for a bit and he took us around the place for a few minutes until he had to go ....

Seemed to be a nice guy

Watched his show...

Kinda sad I didn't stop by when I went thru Maggie Valley last year...

Hopefully the Museum goes on.
